Vanity Fair’s passion with stars du passé is becoming increasingly blatant with yet another cover – this time it’s the December 2010 issue with Cher. Forgotten legends, dusty idols, fear not, your Vanity Fair time will come!
So Cher is back. Was she ever gone? Was she even “here” anymore? Underneath all that scalpel sculpted frozen plastic body is there anything real left? Cher has her new movie to promote – Burlesque so she takes the cover for all the marketing-right reasons. However, I wish there was more Burlesque to this cover than Cher. Where’s Christina? (there’s a short behind the scenes video right after the jump, don’t miss it!) (VF via)

Cher has never been passé. She’s so unreal real and at least honest about it. She was and is the inspiration for so many female performers. She’s the real deal. Cher rulez!! :)
(Hopes she’s not a Sarah Palin fan….ugh…..)
what is the problem with “scalpel sculpted frozen plastic body “??
she can do whatever she wants with HER body and it won’t affect a hint her appeal or her talent.
those words are really unnecessary for a woman with so many awards in her bag.
Cher is NOT a Sarah Palin fan, she thinks she is ridiculous.
I love Cher and to be honest I am ever so glad that Christina is not on this cover. :)
Oh jeez! Cher Passe? Venomous little snake…when you have had a number one hit in each of five decades, TV shows, broadway, oscars, golden globes, Grammy’s, own business and still sell our areans 50 years after you start then lkets hope someone will call you ‘passe’!
Thanks Ellington, I’m glad she doesn’t!!! :)
