Now let me show you (another example of) just why I’m disappointed with the fashworld and the fashpeople when they’re trying to fed us with their “vision” of what is glam and trendy.
Below is a video signed by Ryan McGinley, starring Abbey Lee Kershaw. It’s an ad campaign, actually, for Lewitt, a South Korean label. And because Asian markets seem so different from ours (fighting against the very economical crisis current by pumping up the luxury sales while everyone else in the world swims to calmer seas consumerism-wise), I could be tempted to give this ad a little credit. (don’t miss the video right after the jump!)
Just a little. Since it does battle the morality armies without serving any specific flag, Ryan McGinley’s vision (if it was indeed his) of a fashion ad is painted in all kind of shades of offensive and sick. Jumping off a building? How is that supposed to serve fashion and style, to ask the least? (via)
