During this year’s AMAs lots of things happened. Some for good and some for bad, however, it was all for your entertainment. If you’re having a déjà vu, yes, this has something to do with Adam Lambert.
He thought he made it big with his AMAs performance. And he actually did: he made it big in shows cancellations. Mr Lambert, so many things can be done for our entertainment! Take this young Harajuku apprentice for instance: while keeping his outfit toned down to a simple black and white mix, he bid it all on the face/hair. (click through for a closer inspection! For your entertainment, you can skip straight to the gallery!)
Heavy makeup which includes mascara, eye liner, black khol, an artistically hidden black eye. (it’s all makeup, baby!) Crucifix silver earrings, and a pretty impressive collection of golden studded appliqué makeup under the eyes. Don’t forget the lip piercing and the hair! (which goes low to his waistline, through a red shiny slick streak of hair, which you can now admire on the side!) What say you? Is that entertaining or what? I did not watch Lambert’s AMA performance but I did see it talked about on the news shows. They found it shocking, I found it predictable. Everyone is trying to act “shocking” and “subversive” that it has now become benal and predictable.
These guys in the photo look fun though in their fashion expression.
Double standards! Just double moral standards! See how women are portrayed in fashion magazines, see how female stars perform in the most suggestive ways. And now a man did it, a gay guy. Oh my god the USA in trouble…….what’s new?
I’ve seen it on video. I wasn’t shocked at all. I found the song very lame yes. But that’s it. I’m used now to explicit performances. You know who shocked me? Mr. Clean the Marine Tiger Woods! Now that’s shocking. Bah!
Yes, this young people look very nice and it’s very entertaining to watch their fantasy, their creativity, their fashion sense.
Oh, and about Adam Lambert? He made a great Rolling Stone cover. I would like to mention that too. So!
To Ellington in particular! :)
Ellington, Kpriss and I believe also Dolly Bird wherever she has may gone……this is about music and about “shocking acts”. Well, yesterday I got THE shock of my life. The new so called “Gun n’ Roses” aka Axl Rose and employees has started their Chinese Democracy World Tour. It started “great” on LA airport. While the “employees” were yet in Taipei, Taiwan the Ego decided to leave just one day before the tour kicked off and left with a lot of commotion LA Airport. He fought with the paps, I can imagine one hate them while bothered, but this was too sick and scary and gross and…..argghhhh…..The way he looked……OMG, I’ve re-watched that video over again, I saw some clips of the show and the photos of Axl these days as well the fight as the show….words fail me….my great memories are attached for now on the days I loved GnR. They’ve a new fanbase of very young people from 14 until 30 I didn’t know they exist….they see him as “God” and loved the fights. And think that’s “cool”. That scares the hell out of me. They think all people aged 35 until 50 look like him! Thank God they don’t.
My heart bleeded when I heard “Sweet Child” because it’s a very special memory.
Axl Rose, please lock yourself up in recluse again. Go away, don’t attach kids…..girls, I hadn’t paid attention for years but now I have…..:(( :-/
I sincerely hope Adam stop to listen to hype managers and all. But I’m afraid the music business is too sick and it’s all about the image. The guy has it to be a great performer and he can really sing. It would have been different when he would have started in the 80’s….when music still was really great and rocked….:(
Adriana, that is really so sad that Axl has to resort to that kind of behaviour!
But at least you have your fond memories of that song. :)
I agree that Adam is a good singer and has the potential to be a great one, just as long as he does not try to ride the hype train, and focus on his gift I think he will be fabu.
Yes music was better in the 80’s and some of the 90’s now it seems to be a lot of formulaic crap, done by talentless over dubbed dorks. :P
Ellington, I agree with all you said about Adam Lambert. I saw his talent and charism right away. It’s the curse of the Idols hype I guess.
OH, sure let’s not forget some real great 90’s music I still love. Somewhere down the 80’s something changed and not for the best alas….
