Japanese Fashion Beyond Your Wildest Imagination

Talking about Japan and not making as much as a side note about the Japanese fashion is a no-go! So I’ll be making more than just a side note! I’ll be making an entire article! Because Japanese Fashion is worth it!

And when you’ll see Lady Gaga dressed like this, you’ll know where it comes from! The following takes place in Japan, at the Design Festa (a special festival which takes place in Tokyo, in October, with highlights from fashion, art, music, everything DIY). A special group (Princess Time) catwalked this special show (Special Makeup Fashion Show) with fairy tale characters: The Little Mermaid, Cinderella, Rapunzel, Little Red Riding Hood and a special princess. Click through to admire the very special makeup show! (or just skip to the gallery)

While Little Red Riding Hood (though it’s pink for the most part) is the most… normal, the following characters fall far from the original fairy tales we all know. So far I think kids would have nightmares just looking at these pictures. Also, the Little Mermaid is somewhat easy to digest (due to the extraordinary face makeup, the outfit still feels strange to me).

I’m trying hard to see the Rapunzel princess somewhere. It’s either the golden suit with plants allover or the red undies catastrophe. Under no circumstance is the Robot princess hiding Rapunzel underneath that 10 inch makeup! No-no! It’s a noteworthy idea for the following “first episodes” from Star Wars. Just in case! So which one is the creepiest? (via)

Creepiest? Hmm, more like fascinating and interesting to me. I see the influence of the traditional Japanese Kabuki Theatre here.

It’s like Björk and Strawberry Shortcake had a baby.
