Can you believe a magazine photo spread can actually be shot in 18 months? (no, there’s no typo! A year and a half for fashion photographs!)
One of my most favorite magazines, AnOther Magazine brought together not only two wonderful photographers (Craig McDean and Hedi Slimane) but also a handful of iconic personalities from Stella Tennant to Chloe Sevigny for a Decade in Style celebration. It’s all happening in that very special Fall Winter 2009/2010 issue! (the story continues right after the jump with more images!)
Treating fashion as art and working with true artists trying to get you closer to that art is something quite rare aujourd’hui. The Fash-universe is ruthlessly elitist and without interest in opening its artsy fancy circle to amateurs. AnOther Magazine is the exception. So I think. Let me spare you the conversation for there’s no need for words when you have images like these ones: (that’s just a preview, I’m sure more goodies are hidden in AnOther Magazine’s pages!)
(Kylie Minogue in Christopher Kane ss 07, Kirsten Dunst in Rodarte ss 09, Stella Tennant in Hussein Chalayan ss 07, Lovefoxx in Viktor & Rolf ss 03 and Natasha Khan in Marios Schwab ss 09 were all photographed by Hedi Slimane)
(Charlotte Gainsbourg in Baleciaga by Nicolas Ghesquiere ss 03, Chloe Sevigny in Miu Miu ss 06, Maggie Cheung in Burberry Prorsum fw 07, Michelle Williams in Louis Vuitton ss 07 and Santigold in Vivienne Westwood fw 06 were all photographed by Craig McDean)

What can I say? Too elitist for me I guess. Great singer Santigold (I was immediately impressed by her, but at first it was Santogold?) and I love the booties, hates that jumpsuit, though I love Vivienne. Hates it also that Michelle Williams has entered the actodels….and ehh….why do I care anyway, I’ve never seen this magazine for real. It shall be available here in special stores but where?
This magazine is often hit or miss with me. I would have to look at it in person to make up my mind about this issue.
*It should have been actmodels* A typo, though “actodels’ sounds funny for a Dutch but not really nice…*.
