I still haven fallen pray to the Gossip Girl frenzy! But it seems US Harper’s Bazaar did! Leighton Meester covers the September 2009 edition.
Comparing her cover with Blake Lively’s Vogue February cover, it’s daylightclear that Harper’s Bazaar could have tried harder! However, getting back to the Fall Fashion Issue, why is Leighton on the cover? (the story continues with more pictures right after the jump!)
Just because she’s digitally aged to match the “Fabulous at Every Age” story? (and how is that every age 4-photos pictorial related to “Your Quick And Easy Guide to Fashion”?) Being photographed by Terry Richardson guarantees a cover? US Harper’s Bazaar September 2009 is a strange mélange of Ageless Beauty and Fashion Issue. How about those creepy digitally aged pictures of Leighton and why haven’t they named the Leighton pictorial “Four ways to wear black at different ages”? (via)

It’s really not-so-sure cover, she is cute on the cover and the light is so Richardson’s but the editorial are bad, they all are strange .
This is dire. : (
I too have never fallen for Gossip Girl and I never ever will.
The books are reprehensible and the show seems insipid.
I am a tad peeved that she is on the September cover as I usually enjoy the September issue of Harper’s, well no such joy for me this year. :(
Why isn’t Susan Boyle on the cover? It seems there’s a photospread inside of her in this Bazaar? Why didn’t they have the guts? And it would sell. People love fairy tales after all. Right?
Poor thing on photo 4……..that collar! Oh, this is for 65/70+ hiding a wrinkle neck? So pic 1 is for a 10/20 something, then pic 2 is for 20/30 somethings, pic 3 40/50 year olds and at last 4 for the elderly? Ah, I see.
I would rather call this ageless creepy altered beauty. Ugh……
Dreadful and lacking in elegance and beauty.
