V Magazine July/August 2009 has Cameron Diaz on the Beauty Issue cover. Get into the groove is more than just a cover line, is the very styling they got Cameron in: Madonna con bra features and fake tattoos.
Splendid at her pop art ish level as portrayed by Mert and Marcus, Cameron looks beautiful even if one would say she’s just a cover stand-in for Lady Gaga, the true star of this Beauty Issue (but that’s another story). (the story continues right after the jump with more pictures!)
Why would V Magazine go for Cameron in a beauty issue? Yes, she has a movie coming up, yes she’s a gorgeous woman, yes she used to be a model, and yes she rocks that Madonna 80s looks like no other, and yet… I do like the cover (and the styling) and it’s another world par rapport of that June Vogue that was so standard and stiff, isn’t it? At first sight I thought it was Gwen Stefani!
Madonna is the Queen of Pop right? Since she’s such an inspiration to singers for their music and appearance and photographers for shoots she deserves that title yes? I think so you see.
Well, this Cameron cover less boring than that June cover but that’s all. I still see Gwen Stefani though when I look just quick……..
Go girls, bleach your hair, wear a corset, be seductive in short:
“Express Yourself”!
Nice seeing her again with I guess the most stylish cover she ever landed. I love the styling and Yes, I first thought it was Gwen.
btw, the last pic the shows her muscle was very Madonna.
Actually I thought it was Ute Lemper. But I like Cameron and this cover is nicely done. I would not have wanted to see Lady Gaga on the cover.
Ute Lemper? I don’t see her…. Great singer by the way. Interesting taste Ellington. I like it you know who she is. Just like you know who Nina Hagen is.
Ute Lemper did a photoshoot that I think was paying homage to the the musical “Chicago” and it had a very Bob Fosse vibe to it, as does these photos of Cameron. That is why I said the photos made me think of Ute Lemper. She is a great singer! :)
the no-eyebrow look terrifies me.
