Karl Lagerfeld’s designer qualification is beyond any doubt but not beyond any discussion! Take for instance this new shades model featured in a new photo published on the Chanel website.
Under the name Oversized Sunglasses with a Shape Like No Other you’ve got a special pair of shades with whiskers! Gentlemen, would you wear those Chanel Whiskered Sunglasses? Ladies, what say you? Shall we let this Chanel thing happen?

I have lost all my respect for Karl Lagerfeld and I don’t find him funny anymore. Since he has stated that “nobody knows who Heidi Klum is here and Claudia Schiffer doesn’t either” (I wonder if Claudia does agree and apparantly he hasn’t seen his own country’s Vogue, Heidi looks great on the cover….) and about Seal’s skin: “I am no dermatologist but I wouldn’t want his skin. Mine looks better than his. He is covered in craters”.
Seal’s skin is a leftover from his youth-lupus. So is his bald head. As is obvious Seal must have suffered a lot as a kid. It’s possible if you’re born with lupus a young patient can grow over the disease in their teen years due to hormonal changes. Seal wears his scars with pride and has never forgotten about it because he’s ambassador for the SLE Lupus Foundation until today.
I’m really angry at Karl’s stupid remarks! Even if he don’t know about lupus, I didn’t either when Seal had his first hit and I found him kinda sexy and loved his voice. And now I’m so glad I wasn’t so shallow as der Karl!
What was this about? Oh, weird sunglasses because Karl get’s old and is so beyond everything…..pfff….the fashion world needs a new Chanel! A person that get rid of the madness and makes stuff that makes us feel pretty and comfortable and stylish again…..
Go away Karl, to one of your castles. Enjoy all these decadence when you still can. Go play with your teddy bear and your pretty boys whom would have never ever be around you if you were not famous but just the silly old man you are.

Wow, Adriana, that’s lots of words but I totally agree on your comment and his garments are now back to the point where he started with a bit of this and that cities. And those Seal comments were killing me!! And I personally hate the sunglasses. I mean many designers come up with cool sunglasses with fashion sense and funny feature but that Chanel is just a funny thing. Karl may want to ware it so he shares.
Daydreamer, that’s me. It’s partly because I’ve taught myself english and cannot express myself as in my own language. And I can get carry away when I’m passionate about something. Plus I have lupus. That’s no fun. No I’ve not a crater face. I’ve had rash in my face and everywhere which can be one of the symptoms. And that’s not a party. The young Seal must have had a rotten childhood. So he deserve his happiness and must be thankful he was born with a beautiful voice.
(My great doctor gave me a miracle silicone cream to prevent scars! Thank God!)
I promise you [all] I shall stop now about lupus. Though I think people should know about this. It’s an upcoming chronical disease you see.
I felt like I was stung by a wasp when I’d read this. Not only about Seal’s scars also his nasty comments about Heidi. It’s pathetic! Heidi Klum, whatever you may think of her, has made the most of her life and has a nice family as well. May they live happily forever. Isn’t it Father’s Day today? Have a great Father’s Day Seal!
Oh, it was the trailer of “Coco Avant Chanel” that made me think that we are in need of a new Chanel……or do I miss a designer that comes close to her ideas? Give me the sign I’ve missed something?

I too adore Seal and find him and his music very attractive. I have been a fan of his for all of his albums. The Kaiser is out of line and very ignorant to state such a crass thing about Seal and his skin and his comments regarding Heidi are just plain silly. I think that Seal’s scars are rather striking on him and he is a handsome man, and Heidi is a good model she knows how to work it. The Kaiser’s comments are too stupid to be taken seriously.
Kind of like the Mr. Potato Head sunglasses that he is now trying to push as cutting edge fashion!
Would I wear them? Ye gads no! Would I like it if my guy wore them?

Okay. I really couldn’t care less about what Karl says about anybody, what anybody says about him, or his personal life. To me, he’s not even really human – just a figure running Chanel.
Sometimes I really wonder if he’s jumped shark. The whisker glasses – be serious, would Coco ever have turned out something so hideous? I mean it’s supposed to be fun and frivolous, but Chanel is supposed to be classic, not a piece of plastic to be dumped in two minutes. Yes, Chanel should be moving forward, so to speak, even though the great mystery and allure of the brand is that it’s timeless. I don’t believe that turning out tacky novelties is the way to do that.
I also despise that woolly pink suit he made Lara Stone wear a season or two ago. She looked pregnant. Totally unflattering. I know he thought he was being fresh and whimsy with the dashes of jade and light pink splashed everywhere.
karl is bringing chanel down, he is trying to make it all about himself. Ever since he went thin, and wasnt so shy as to hide behind his chinese fans, he has now emblazoned his face on everything, with pictures of his silhouette on everything chanel. hE IS MAKING ME SICK. When i think chanel, i think sophisticated classy and luxurious, not an old ugly prune faced german man. Someone needs to get karl out of chanel before he destroys it any further. Chanel isnt a place for disgusting sunglasses with side burns, he is ruining the chanel image, and associating it with disgusting sunglasses.
How trashy are these glasses, if any of my male friends wear this, they might as well walk around with the word ‘ tragic ‘.
I don’t mind the what he has done with Chanel Couture but the rest is to pump up publicity and perfum sales. Who can forget

I feel everyone’s concern – Chanel is definitely losing it’s rich heritage and prestige.
It never should have ventured into menswear. Men buy Dunhill, Zegna or Armani not Chanel. Chanel was the exclusive domain for women.
Coco Chanel designed for women because she never wanted a man to design clothes for her.
His time is coming to an end, he knows it. YSL and Ferrer are dead, Valentino has retired. I’m worried that when the time comes the legacy he leaves behind will not be a pleasant one.
