Thom Browne’s Men Skirt Suit On The Move!

Though we highly speculated that maybe Marc Jacobs was the proud owned of Thom Browne’s entire stock of men skirt suits, this week we’re proved wrong.

The Thom Browne skirt suit was street-spotted in Chelsea and it wasn’t on Marc Jacobs! Remarquez the eye patch – it’s not just any men skirt suit wearer, it’s a style pirate, ladies and gents! But is he a stylish one? Would you see this men skirt suit spreading like a true men-skirt-virus? (photos via)

No I don’t like it. It looks odd and has none of the charisma of a man wearing a kilt.
No thanks for me too Adriana! :)

Front view looks fine, though I’d like a lower cut in the jacket neckline. The rear view as he is walking away shows him committing the sin of letting the tops of his otherwise-covered-except-for-the-slit socks show. If he chose better hose, it’d be fine.

Its Almost right. The jacket should be a regular length mans jacket, The skirt should be knee length with knee socks and loafers for footwear.

Skirts for men – yes!
this example – not for me!

A skirt for me has to be a little bit shorter (but not mini), and I would prefer stockings instead of socks and other shoes.

It’s fine; maybe not my style, but it’s ok, I know this much, if I reflect on the number of women and girls I see cutting about in the most awful, badly designed disproportionate and downright ugly, trouser/ skirt or dress outfits and suits, then this guys kit is way up there in the class stakes!! Tell you what subject them to the same degree of scrutiny and we’ll see who wins! On saying all that, his skirt could be a bit wider, a little shorter and ether sew up the split or wear stockings high enough to cover his bleached pins!

Arrow, you are right. I have double standards. (As I stated about another issue on this blog).
All the men have a point here. I still do not like this outfit really but your points are valid. Once I loved a rock singer in his skirts…..
Thanks for the wake-up call. :)

The jacket is cuit poorly, the buttons are attached to high on the jacket making the man look like a saudage, the socks are to short, so basically this outfot is a no-go. BUT the basic idea of a man wearing a skirt (again) nothing wrong with that. Like suggested already, knee length, with knee high socks or matching stockings, double breasted jacket and tie would do the trick.

In general YES, depend on occasion. Otherwise I would recommend have some shorter skirt for men, using dark pantyhose or stockings. White sneakers are not the right combination, I would think.

Otherwise men can wear other kind of skirts, too, clear and strait in style, not frilly.
Yes, I changed my mind too after looking different blogs how men look in skirts, I have to confess that I feel that they are looking better in a skirt than in pants. Very strange, but very true.

Great – little kitten heels would be better with nylons – IF IT IS NOT lined then wear a petticoat
and keep tummy under control – MORE men should wear skirt suits (and try a dior pleat) not a god awful split so untidy
