Matthew Williamson’s H&M Summer 2009

Everyone’s waiting to breathe in the new fashion air by Matthew Williamson for H&M! Barely a month left to wait (lucky thing, we still have Topshop’s magical opening, April 2!) and the Internet abounds in sneak peaks of the colorful collection.

So here it goes, a regular fashion for the masses, Matthew Williamson didn’t betrayed his colors for giant Swedish retailer Hennes and Mauritz! (the story continues right after the jump! Don’t miss the rest of the pictures from Matthew Williamson’s collection for H&M!)

Matthew Williamson H and M collection ss09

Matthew Williamson HM ss09 collection 1

Classic winning combo: leather-long layered, printed dress, the laid-back chic of a large sleeved dress with hippie washed-in colors with a metallic shimmer, the classic YSL-like pants suit in a neon headache-shade, the infamous jumpsuit a la Stella McCartney (I so refuse to wear those except in the short, veeery short version! They simply kill your proportions, especially the waist!).

Matthew Williamson HM ss09 collection 4

A tulip constructed dress, with pockets, for those of us who really don’t know what to do with our hands so we impolitely (but so beyond) keep in our pockets! And the peacock-print dress – something torn right out of a Woodstock page of history. Are those awful rumors about the sky-high prices for this collection true? (via)

I like Matthew Williamson, he is a designer who is not afraid to use colour. I wonder how his H&M line will be received? Ah TopShop…That is one of the things I do miss about not living in England anymore.

I really love the peacock dress with the leather jacket, the pant suits (that’s how I like my pants if not flaired) and the jumpsuit. I loved jumpsuits in the 80’s until early 90’s. As always I’m not gonna rush to H&M to get something but this is really a nice collection.
I’ve plans to make a jumpsuit myself. Maybe two. It’s such a comfortable way to dress except going to the bathroom…..

I am super-excited to check out this collection myself! I love the pairing of the hot orange heels with the long printed dress. The tulip dress is also stunning.
