When you want to find I-D on the world wide web, you get to choose between I.D and i-D. Both and each iconic, one is standing for the International Design Magazine and the other stands for a very fashion-significant wink.
i-D Magazine is the fashion and style conscious reviewer for over 25 years (29 years this year, 2009, to be more exact) (don’t miss the rest of the story, pictures and behind the scenes videos right after the jump!)
The first time the world was facing the artsy wink, it was in the form of a 40 stapled pages fanzine. Now, the British Magazine started by the former Vogue art director Terry Jones in 1980 is a reference in photography, layout, fashion and style representation as well as promoting young talents.
This March, i-D gives us not one but twelve wink-covers! It’s the Best of British models issue. La crème de la crème on twelve different covers to love and to have, to stare at and to i-D smile at anytime. Even if the issue took months to plan, the making was a revolution – over 100 rails of clothes, 400 pairs of shoes, hundreds making-off-ers for four days of photo séances.
I added few covers and pictures from this amazing issue, you can click on the thumbnails to see larger images, but I won’t hide I loved watching the videos! It’s so relaxed and … beautiful! Which one of the covers you’d like to have, if you had to pick just one? (I would go with Stella Tennant, a favorite of mine from my early years in acknowledging fashion)
The British beauties gracing this issue’s pages and covers are: Naomi Campbell, Daisy Lowe, Lily Donaldson, Lily Cole, Lorraine Pascale, Agyness Deyn, Jourdan Dunn, Twiggy, Alice Dellal, Susie Bick, Erin O’Connor, Eliza Cummings, Jeny Howorth, Cecilia Chancellor, Kate Moss, Yasmin Le Bon, Stella Tennant, Alek Wek.

Interesting. I would have to see it in person though. I will check it out at my local book shop.
That was great fun to watch with my Saturday morning coffee before I go off to the city.
