Adidas: Be Original

Another campaign for a world renowned sportswear brand that doesn’t necessarily connect you with their product as such.

It doesn’t have to be the world’s greatest commercial or the most innovative, it just has to find that switch in you, the one that makes you turn towards their product and not the competition’s. And this “branding the principles” seems to be one of the heaviest tendencies in advertising lately. Take a look. Could it work with you?

No. I never buy products due to commercials. This one looks a lot like so many video-clips. That clips that makes you wonder what it has in common with the music?

Maybe commercials do influence me unconsciously? There’s one I’m sure about I use because of their commercial and there’s nothing glamorous about it: the Swiffer! And all the Swiffer stuff! Loves it.

I like this ad. Brands like Addidas, NIKE, Puma et al are not just about sportswear, fitness lovers and athletes anymore. They are about selling life and style. And you can do what you want. I think that’s what they are trying to get across.
