You already know I like Natalia Vodianova. For her sad girly beauty translated into a family woman.
Seeing her in this clip didn’t really change my feelings. But I have to admit the obvious similarities between Natalia Vodianova’s Guerlain Shalimar with Eva Mendes for Calvin Klein Secret Obsession. If you’ll watch the clip, I’m sure you’ll see it to. I imagine, however, that this short advertising won’t stir the same controversy Eva Mendes did with hers. The French talking is reason enough to see this ad as chic, beautiful and inspiring, in spite of it being almost identical to Calvin Klein’s Secret Obsession. Do you think this will get banned too? Or you see it as the epitome of European chic?
UPDATE: The short movie was shot by Pablo Roversi and here’s a preview of the ad print for Shalimar. To me looks like the traditional Shalimar poster only in black and white and featuring a blonde with girly looks.

What’s this talk about ‘the French chic’ all the time? I don’t get it really. Maybe because I’m a European…….I see not that much difference between Eva Mendez and this one. The language is different. That’s all. To me at least.
And what is the epitome of European chic? Is that the reason the south south coast of France and the castles belongs now too American celebrities, humantirian rock-stars and Russian Mafia nouveau riche? If you ask the locals there? They despice it!
They show butt cheeks on prime time television, I doubt this commercial will be an issue.
Okay, I have to say that while watching this ad clip I was laughing until tears came!
It was almost like a cheesy parody of the idea of French chic and what is sexy. It is very similar of the Eva Calvin Klein ad.Very derivative.
Have they no more nifty ideas?
@Ellington, no I believe not.
This is our ‘new corset’! If you get my drift. And of course we only can be that sensual and tempting to our own husband/partner!
Give me Dita anytime than this kind of commercials! At least Dita is entertaining for us women too in my view.
You have to admit there’s a difference – Natalia doesn’t actually touch herself! She uses the perfume’s cap to do it… I’d say that’s far more european than CK!
