Oh, if only they would get this idea and make it happen for good! Catwalk music available at your local store! It would be so perfectly fashionable!
Let’s all unite in the name of music and fashion to make them release fashion shows soundtracks! I bet it would sell better and faster than the actual runway clothes! Here Dame Vivienne Westwood breaking the ice with her music album! Exclusively launched at Selfridges, September 15, this album contains 16 tracks, all Vivienne Westwood’s favorites (reportedly costing around $50).
“My clothes always tell a story. It may refer to the past, but it’s always projected into this heroic future. And I choose the music accordingly. (…) Sometimes the music can just be sexy, it can let you relax, look at the clothes, put people into a fantastic mood. (…) These are some of the pieces that I’ve relied on over all these years – my classics. They’ve never failed me.”
Wouldn’t you buy albums with catwalk music?

Thank you. :D
That could be good “getting dressed to go out” music.
I love anything fierce and great to walk to!
I very often search for the music from catwalk shows especially at Burberry and Galliano. This is good news to me.I hope all designers follow the idea and save me from relentlessly Googling for their runway music.
Uhhh Westwood’s $50 price tag is a bit much tho.
Wow, She always tries to shock us )))
I love music. I’m a rock girl. I make my own “soundtracks” so to speak. Not ever in my life I shall or will buy a catwalk-music album. Not even download it for free. No way José!
I’ve to say I like often John Galliano’s choices. But I rather hear the albums for real…..
P.S. Do we have to dance on that shoes?
Adriana I know what you mean.I’d love to listen to the entire albums too but sometimes the runway compilations are so clever and well mixed it sounds great as it is.DJ Jeremy Healy who does all of Galliano’s runway music often does some masterly mixes. How I wish I had the time to discover the entire albums of the tunes I like.
LOL as for dancing with those Westwood plateforms uhh…Nope! I’ll leave that to people who live dangerously or Drag Queens or die hard Westwood fans.LOL!I do admire those who do btw.
I love Viviene Westwood’s designs and verve, but there is no way that I would pay $50.00 for a cd of her music choices! Did she design the music? I don’t think so.
Why can’t we download these albums for free or less money? Dame Vivienne has forgotten about her punk-days? 50 bucks? The “bollocks” Dame Viv if you don’t mind?
Sure would. We have post-shopping fashion shows at home, after all. ;)
Have to agree with you that it’s a spicy price for a catwalk mix (you’re right, Ellington, the music wasn’t designed by Vivienne Westwood! and maybe she didn’t chose the tracks herself either)
Oh, Adriana, dancing on those platforms would be far more daring than paying the $50 bucks! The last pair of pumps I bought left me wearing tongs for a month to heel my blisters! So that’s a no-go for me!
Megan – don’t mention it! Just stay out of that depression! Listen to some music ;)!
Sal and WendyB, you’re both thinking about dressing up! Amazing!
Dolly Bird, thanks for the tip! I’ll start searching for that DJ now! And if you have some more musical tips, I’ll be more than happy to exchange (even if my searching for music has slowed down on me with the kids – instead I could provide you with the latest Baby Einstein! ;) )
Angel and Fajr – it remains to be seen if she’ll shock us with this fierce music collection!
Megan, WendyB, Fajr thanks for stopping by!
Thank you for the sweet comment on my fashion blog! I appreciate it a lot!
