The Montreal Museum of Fine Arts displays a very special 40 years of creation retrospective: Yves Saint Laurent.
Focusing on four themes, the exhibition coordinates are “The Stroke of a Pencil” where you can follow the idea from the sketch on, “The Yves Saint Laurent Revolution” where feminized men’s clothes go together with seductive attire. “The Palette” where colors meet and blend surprisingly in new amazing ways. “Lyrical Sources” where Yves Saint Laurent found his revolutionary inspiration.
The exhibition is presented in Montreal Museum of Fine Arts from May 29 to September 28 2008 and it will be followed by The De Young Museum of San Francisco from November 1, 2008 to March 1, 2009.
It’s always good to make some fashion history, it helps remember that it’s not always about money… Would you rather go to this YSL retrospective or the Chanel Mobile Art Exhibition?(if it’s still on)

Yves Saint Laurent no doubts about that. I do own some books about YSL and his work over the years but it’s always a joy to see it at an exhibition. Especially since I’m interessed in how his work, the techniques, has developed.
Gosh, in Montreal and San Francisco? What can a poor girl do than dream on?
Gosh, I just found out Yves Saint Laurent has passed away this Sunday evening at the age of 71. The man himself has been an inspiration to me for a long time.
May he have found peace….
