Since I already made my coming out as a Watson fan (not so much, really, but I do like her), this doesn’t come as a surprise: Emma Watson covers the Spanish edition of Seventeen. I highly doubt she really posed for this issue (so these must be just portfolio pictures) but even so, it’s interesting (for the debate we just had) to know what’s on her mind and how the world looks through her eyes.
Coming from a lawyers/academics family, Emma admitted to not knowing who Gary Oldman was (is that really possible?) but catching up with that cinematic education and viewing thousands (?) of movies! (the story continues right after the jump!)
Where she buys her clothes? Topshop, Gap, Zara. The most expensive thing she ever bought? Her laptop! What car she drives? A Toyota Prius! What she did with all that money? She doesn’t need money because she loves her family! (but she did take a course teaching her how to manage her money) The Chanel gig? Not one word true! Eh? She sounds like she had media-training.
I’ve seen a photo of her in Rodarte. Very sexy, not at all sweet 17. She looked great. I’m not critical here. But that dress could have been a gift of course?
I, for one, think that her claim about her laptop being her most expensive purchase to date is complete bollocks. It’s hard to buy this statement, coming from the very same Emma who owns a J12 watch, carries a different designer bag in each event/pap photo and shops at posh areas of London.
In my honest opinion, she’s just trying to make herself approachable and seemingly normal/girl-next-door to the young female population aka ‘Seventeen’/teen magazine readers. But on the other hand, she tries too hard to convince readers of high fashion magazine that she is sophisticated, wise beyond her age and fashion-forward.
I am not buying her modesty and I’m-just-your-average-girl-next-door statement.
I like the spread but I dislike the cover, it too old Seventeen,though she looks like 12 years old.
I am not an Emma fan as she has yet to prove herself as an actor, and making a serious of HP films playing Hermoine does not cut it for me.
I too find her I am just a normal girl comments a bit forced and twee. Her laptop the most expensive thing she has ever bought? Well maybe because most things are probably given to her so she does not have to pay. And her answer to the money question was a complete non-sequitur.

and if she got it for free I think she bought a mulberry bag which is for sure more expensive than a laptop…she wants that everyone believes she is normal but how she always mentions it it comes to me that she wants us to believe it because in real life she is just totaly not normal
She looks gorgeous. She sounds normal because she IS normal. She’s not one of those crazy media starlets who feel the need to impress or act bigger than their boots. She’s Emma. She’s stayed true to herself. She’s honest and doesn’t pretend to be something that she’s not and that’s why her FANS love her.
