Vera Wang Boutique to Simply Close
January 21st, 2008 by kpriss
This boutique was opened two years ago (in the Halekulani resort in Waikiki). It’s a 600m2 store with clothing articles, accessories, and cosmetics.
It’s supposed to be a drop after Vera Wang decided to simply cut on her jewelry line. Plus her low-cost collaborations lately seemed to have scared clients who believed she was loosing sight of the simply exclusive concept and focusing too much on the “simply” part.
I for one love the idea of lowering those luxury standards. After all, he/she who wants to find uniqueness, he/she can find it even under a rock!
What do you say? Was “Simply Vera” a commercial mistake?
Blancpain White Saint-Valentin Watch
January 20th, 2008 by kpriss
I’m not much of a Saint-Valentin Person, but the Blancpain heart variation watch is catchy enough for an outsider such as myself.
White and sparkly, it has the heart motif that also serves as the small seconds hand. The two rows of diamonds is discreet enough to not make you weep when loosing one. If you want to go giving with your valentine, go ahead, this Blancpain is water resistant (up to 50meters).
The winding Calibre 6763 movement has a 100- hours power reserve so you won’t say you were late on a date because your Blancpain is “en panne”.
This white watch also displays a complete calendar with a pointer type date display, the day of the week, month and moon phase.
If you want the alligator leather strap, hurry up, with some luck, you’ll be among the 99 owners of this limited edition luxury Blancpain watch!

5 Summer Dresses I Would Never Wear
January 20th, 2008 by kpriss
From 2008 Resort Collection I chose 5 pieces you absolutely have to stay away from! The reason why I’m presenting them to you, even if I find them extremely ugly, it’s so you’ll know what designers make when bored!
(and, I admit, for amusing yourselves with me!)
Here there are: my favorites the two Balenciaga and the Lanvin and then a Miu Miu and a pyjama-Prada.

Shakira Wears Carolina Herrera Resort 2008 Dress
January 19th, 2008 by kpriss
Carolina Herrera’s dresses are always fluid and ladyflattering. Given her strange choices in clothes, Shakira went for a sure thing when she attended Herz fur Kinder charity telethon.
I’m not sure it fits her, since she’s not a tall figure… What do you think?

Gisele Bundchen Ad Campaign for Versace Spring-Summer 2008
January 18th, 2008 by kpriss
The Ad Campaign for Versace Spring-Summer 2008 Collection is assured by Gisele.
The beige jumpsuit she’s wearing for the print ad is accessorized with beige and metallic accents (beige bag, metallic platform sandals and beige belt) that looked very good with her bronzed skin color.
I also posted the others pictures of the campaign in a mosaic so you’ll enjoy the view of many little Gisele Bundchen presenting you a lustrous Versace Collection for Spring-Summer 2008.
Did you like the campaign and the collection itself?
Kirsten Dunst Ad Campaign for Miu Miu Spring-Summer 2008
January 18th, 2008 by kpriss
Well, what a lovely campaign for Miu Miu! When I first heard the rumors that their new face for Spring Summer 2008 was Kiki, I kindda smiled. Not because I wouldn’t see Kirsten Dunst in such position, but because I wandered what would they make her look like.
And she looks wonderful! The pictures are completely decadent, she makes a perfect contrast to the red environment with her unnatural white skin. She looks playful and lustful but not too obvious, just perfect! Well done Kirsten, well done Miu Miu!
What do you think? Is she suited for the job? The campaign is successful?
Nina Ricci Plans to Accessorize
January 17th, 2008 by kpriss
There’s another heavy player announced for the accessories market. Nina Ricci plans to tag the Nina Ricci brand on small but oh-so-profitable luxury objects.
“We are 90 per cent a fragrance group and we can move to be a more balanced luxury goods group. We have all the ingredients to play in the luxury goods arena. I see tremendous potential.”
Sais Manuel Puig, the house’s president.
I wonder how a matching handbag for the “Premier Jour” would look like! Or pairing shoes for the “L’Air du Temps”! Just think of all those opportunities – creating a handbag, than launching a perfume for the handbag, or vice versa! A world of profit!
