February 14th, 2008 by kpriss
Today, Valentine’s Day, I give you another series – Models Before and After – starting out with, logically, the first episode.
Models. How many times we fancy about them? About their life, their opportunities, their clothes? How many numerous times we judge them? Their life, their choices, their looks?
This is not of them too many judgments. This is just a series of photos showing you the normal person behind the model.

Happy Valentine’s Day with Lulu Guiness and Prada
February 14th, 2008 by kpriss
I’ll start this day with a posting about February 14th – Valentine’s Day. And this article itself by naming just two of the labels that promote love celebration and branded products meaning to represent V-Day.
Have a handbag that hearts celebration from Lulu Guiness. The clutch comes emblazoned with “Glamour Girl” heart tattoos and mirror compacts.
This red heart clutch hearts charity too – from 1 to 21 February, percentages from the sales profits of this little snakeskin bag will be donated to the Global Fund (fighting Aids in Africa, part of the Love(red) campaign.
Prada has its own releases – the Heart Bracelet (about $150) and the Heart Coin Purse (about $140-200) and the most hideous creations I’ve seen in a looong time – Prada Tricks teddy bear.
Marc Jacobs Likes to Blog?
February 13th, 2008 by kpriss
Everyone knows about Marc Jacobs. What not everyone knows about Marc Jacobs is that he blogs. Or at least that’s what we are lead to believe.
Why not, after all, blogging is in fashion lately, something Marc hasn’t managed for quite a while now (NY fashion show echo was pretty disappointing).
Marc Jacobs blogs, ladies and Gentlemen!
And most of all, he comment-blogs! On New York Post blogs! Answering a posting made by Cathy Horyn and named “New York Random Thoughts” with the 30th comment.
Please feel free to make your own mind – is it Marc? Marc Jacobs? THE Marc Jacobs? Or…?
Dear Cathy…..I wish you could have been at my show. I think it was a really good one. I am happy with it on every level. I deliberately stated I was uninspired this season as I have felt that talking about inspiration is so not the point to making and showing a collection. Inspiration is a catalyst. one is left with an interpretation of those thoughts. In a show context they are meant to “say” something…..I felt it necessary to allow the audience to say what they want, to see what they saw. There was no wrong or right. everyone is entitled to their opinions. Big deal….My last few collections have been nothing but an expression of where I am at and what interests me and my team in terms of cut, shape, color and our individual interests in fashionable clothes. I find so many aspects of life today fascinating…I don’t work in a bubble. I am influenced by the world, and what of the world I know, remember, and hope for. I look forward to the chance to speak to you soon…I really felt a need for calm, and yes, each season is a reaction to the one that came before it. I am certain that what we chose to promote this season was the only, and perfect answer. and, for all those who think Spring Summer didn’t sell…..perhaps, they should check our figures before assuming such as fact. I hope you are feeling better…All my best, Marc.

Fast Linkage : Scarlett Johansson and Natalie Portman Pictured Together for W
February 13th, 2008 by kpriss
The Other Boleyin Girl brought together Scarlett and Natalie for a picture side by side for W magazine.
It’s not easy to find a man whose celebrity crush list includes both Natalie Portman and Scarlett Johansson. – thus spoke Danielle Stein, the W author of this Sister Act article.
Gotta be at least out of this world to not know that men really do prefer both “Boleyn girls”. Or you have had seen this photo shoot where Natalie looks put together, with a bizarre charm but charm nevertheless and Scarlett looks like cut-out from her ‘trottoir’ hours and brought near serene Natalie.
They’ve got all that makeup theme wrong for Scarlett. She’s more likely to look acceptable as a pin-up girl than a gothic one. Still, I don’t plan to ruin the surprise of the article, but since it started out with such a genius-worthy observation, it was oh-so-normal that it would finish in a completely dumb way:
The only thing that’s a little bit annoying,” confesses Portman, when the subject turns to her public profile, “is I feel that I come off kind of boring sometimes.” “I don’t think you’re boring,” says Johansson in sisterly solidarity. “Thank you,” says Portman. “I appreciate that.
So please do check out that W article on Scarlett and Natalie and let me know what your feelings are. visit.

Gucci Heart NY Controversy
February 13th, 2008 by kpriss
I wrote about the advertising campaign from Gucci involving a heart message (Gucci Loves NY) and the products that came along with it.
I’m writing to inform you now that the feedback is not a joyful one. It seems that, as reported by the NY Post:
The only problem is that the company did not get permission to use the New York state logo—even in an altered way—with its iconic red heart and black letters.
I don’t have any idea how the 3.000 and more legal challenges over infringements for this non-authorized usage of the New York’s trademarked slogan filed by the state will end, but I’ll share with you any news I get.
How do you think it’s going to end? Things will get covered up for fashion’s sake, or (and that will be interesting to assist to) all promotional materials will be flushed down for New York’s slogan integrity sake?
Celine Dion Manages a Titanic Appearance for a Press Conference
February 13th, 2008 by kpriss
Some people just don’t know when to stop. Titanic’s wreck lies at the bottom of the ocean from quite some time now, why don’t give it a rest?
She was always kinda strangely dressed, but this Johannesburg press conference tops them all! Dearest Celine, please stop pulling some Titanic fashion wrecks on us! It’s really hard to bear the sight of you in a ballerina dress with leather-like leggings!
What do you say? she’s got herself a daring outfit? Or a complete wreck?
Oh! Or maybe, just maybe, she’s going to attend a motorcyclist reunion and she just wanted to play soft on the appearance…
Either way, it’s your call, please let me know (I postponed my motorcycle permit for after giving birth, so I’ve got to keep my eyes opened for motorcyclists trends) if her edgy look is really working out and I absolutely need to change my perspectives on style.

Emma Watson Appearance for Vanity Fair Event
February 12th, 2008 by kpriss
First of all – grown up Emma wears a Burberry Prorsum Dress and a Burberry Prorsum Belt and Burberry Prorsum Sandals.
I don’t like the dress (it must be the color and that draped bottom I so dislike) neither do I like the belt (to edgy and yet so dull at the same time) but I like the sandals and the way they make her feet look like.
