YSL Makes Home Organic Designs
April 22nd, 2009 by kpriss
Anyone remembers the viral “The Earth from Above”? A series of photographs, originally titled “La Terre vue du Ciel” by Yann Arthus-Betrand became viral a few years back. The unimaginable beauty of our Earth seen from the air enchanted the eye and warmed the heart.
Yann Arthus-Betrand’s eye just turned into a movie project with Luc Besson’s Europacorp; their project, HOME will be launched in 43 days, June 5th 2009. (the story continues right after the jump with more pictures and a video!)
Rolex Datejust 36mm 2009 Watches Collection
April 22nd, 2009 by kpriss
Roles Datejust 36mm collection puzzles me. On a quick view, I really thought the watches were Louis Vuitton due to the Murakami-ish flower prints. Then again, there was written Rolex allover it, no word of LV anywhere…
So yes, it’s 100% Rolex from the 2009 collection called Datejust 36mm. Available in eight models with four floral variations, mother of pearl and two wave dials, Rolex Datejust 36mm is encrusted with diamonds. (the story continues right after the jump with more pictures)
Louis Vuitton Beachwear Collection Summer 2009
April 21st, 2009 by kpriss
Louis Vuitton Beachwear Collection Summer 2009 is not one to be taken lightly. It has that tan glow, that LV breeze to make the sunny days look interesting enough for the brand addicts.
From Technicolor metal framed sunglasses (that’ll give you an even more interesting sunburn than Kim Kardashian’s) to candy pink totes, bracelets and belts, the Louis Vuitton Beachwear collection for 2009 Summer looks so stiff and serious that the playful electric pink is clearly visually overwhelmed. Isabella Rossellini Too Old For Lancôme!
April 21st, 2009 by kpriss
Isabella Rossellini’s Lancôme contract ended abruptly in 1995. Why? Because Isabella was considered too old to model for Lancôme! At the time, Isabella Rossellini was only 43-years old. This issue drops a serious shadow on Lancôme and its ethics. If 43 is too old, what’s Lancôme’s threshold for using anti-ageing products? 25? (WWD, photo via)

Stefano Pilati Has Something Floral Up His Sleeve
April 21st, 2009 by kpriss
Marc Jacobs is a famous case of turning the hip up on the tattoo market. Of course there’s more to mention on the celeb-tattoo camp, but I’ll keep it strictly to designers.
Because they influence our lives, because they can, because everything they touch in design and about design is crucial to many fashionistas. Yves Saint Laurent’s controversial Stefano Pilati understood the power of florals this season so he decided to bloom a new tattoo on his arm. (the story continues after the jump)
Lady GaGa In Parlour Magazine
April 21st, 2009 by kpriss
Slowly but painfully, Lady GaGa makes her way on the magazines covers. She’s just taking things the hard way: with a magazine almost no one (neither their dog) have heard about: Parlour Magazine.
Can you believe someone is actually styling Lady GaGa? The Parlour Magazine said that GaGa’s hair was styled by Laruen Hughes from Mousy Brown’s, Makeup by Ruth Bancroft and Nails by Kiko Nails. The cover’s stylist was Annaliza Toledo (venzillavintage.com). They all seem so human, I find it almost impossible to style a half-alien-breed like GaGa! Re: Collect Gadget Bracelet
April 21st, 2009 by kpriss
If we’re to count the times we misplaced our keys, phone, whatever, we could only receive with open arms and tears of joy this new gadget, the answer to all our prayers!
Re:Collect is that great little something that helps you find your belongings in the most stylish way: the bracelet scans its surroundings and beeps, blings and vibrates in warning when you step away from your belongings (previously tagged with the RFID chip). Let Them Eat Vogue Cake!
April 20th, 2009 by kpriss
Anna Jagodzinska on the cover of US Vogue May, the models issue was something so notable that they decided to make a cake from it! (even if this is just the first cover, every fold deserved a cake!)
There’s something so strange about eating a cover-cake, I couldn’t bring myself to do it. I wonder, though, if they make a cake with Anna Wintour’s face on it, what would it taste like? (on a side note – how do you decorate your cakes? I usually have nothing on, less is more) (modelinia via theimagist)
