Natalie Portman’s Diorskin Forever Foundation Ad Campaign

We hardly hear anything about Natalie Portman these days. And it doesn’t really worry me since she just had her baby (a boy, Aleph, in June) and she must be enjoying her time with him and fiancé Benjamin Millepied (remember? YSL’s Homme Libre? Yup, that’s him!).

Being a a new mom seems to be good for Natalie who’s now the face of Diorskin Forever, the latest foundation by Christian Dior. She is also the image of Miss Dior Cherie, just in case you forgotten. And guess why they chose Natalie? Because – say the people at Dior – “she is the very symbol of perfection”! Wow! Is she?

I have been recently faced with a modeling task, let me tell you, it’s not easy! You see the gorgeous girls, page after page, billboard after billboard they’re posing with their fancy frocks and you’d tell yourself (ahem me.. myself – wink) “oh, I can do that!”. Well, between striking great modeling poses and doing home made macarons, I’d take the latter any day! Eyes wide closed!

If you’re clueless about what trends you should follow this fall, please note that color blocks are very, truly, madly fashionable! Take for instance one of the latest Red Carpet manifestations for the Los Angeles premiere of “Our Idiot Brother”.

Elizabeth Banks and Rashida Jones looked like sisters in colors as they showed up wearing very different although alarmingly similar dresses. Elizabeth Banks was all dolled up in a three part dress with the soft pink front and soft blue back while the enchanting Rashida Jones was working a black dress with pink and orange blocks on the front of the. Which one is your favorite color blocked girl? (I wish I could also provide you with the designer of the dresses – sadly, although reportedly wearing Prada – for Elizabeth Banks and Stella – for Rashida Jones, I was unable to identify the said dresses in the above mentioned designers collection. Anyone any ideas?)

Have you eve heard of Leigh Lezark? No? Pay attention then, you may find her name on a label from your local H & M store soon! First of all, introductions: Leigh Lezark is one of those social it girls, she used to be a DJ (ever heard of the Misshapes?) now she’s a model and, with a little help from H & M , a fashion designer! Not bad, for a 27yo young lady!

How did she came about fashion? It is yet unclear, but she used to play catwalk sets for the likes of Chanel, Tory Burch or even the Met and Sotheby’s. Oh, and she was also part of numerous fashion ad campaigns! Below a look at Leigh’s style, so you may know what’s coming! (would you buy her clothes? Capitalizing on her star power, Beyonce is launching yet another perfume. And if you’re a fan, know that this September, Pulse is coming to a perfume shop near you!

Pulse is the name of Beyonce’s new fragrance and she’s clearly playing for a “I’m already THE star, I don’t need to sell a smell, I’ll just sell my name, as always!”. Take a look at the video right after the jump and you’ll feel the Beyonce Pulse too. (I didn’t, but that’s just me… I still buy my perfumes after the smell and not after the dress worn in the video commercial)

How is your weekend my lovelies? Great, I hope? I’m here bringing you the latest news, I’m afraid not the best kind for the exquisite fashionistas we undoubtedly are!

The latest revised edition of the Oxford English Dictionary (well, actually the Concise version) officially included Jeggings and Mankini in the English Language. Both styles were made popular in 2009 so I guess even after two years they’re not going anywhere, huh? Just in case: (photos via 1, 2)

Jeggings: pl. n. tight-fitting stretch trousers for women, styled to resemble a pair of denim jeans.
Mankini: n. (pl mankinis) a brief one-piece bathing garment for men, with a T-back.

This is good! This is major! Florence Welch on a Vogue cover! Vogue Japan October 2011 (October magazines! Can. Not. Believe. It!) has commissioned Karl Lagerfeld for a very special Florence Welch Music Meets Style cover!

It’s great! He did a mini – Baptiste with Florence, and I’m willing to forgive him. Because she’s so flawless, this can’t harm her! Way to go, Florence! Flawless and fierce, truly gifted and untamed – ly fashionable! Isn’t she something? Too bad Karl had to turn her into a mini – me!

Did you know there are still people out there who don’t know anything and everything about Sarah Jessica Parker and her life? It would appear that that’s the message Parade Magazine is sending with their new issue as covered by Sarah Jessica Parker.
