I was just reading the other day about these new trends in interiors. Decorators (professionals and amateurs alike) seem to really enjoy the new country décor. Old elements combined in an old way with the new, the modern and the comfortable. And I’m all for that! Back in my assiduous décor days, I was perplexed by the overuse of concrete and marble and cold materials for homes. I mean – who wants to start a day by getting out of bed on a hard gray concrete floor?
I just came across these lovely, warm images of a space belonging to famed photographers Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin! Their Manhattan Apartment is so modern with a touch of old country! Hit the jump for more images! (click here for the gallery)

Before you look at it and judge, think that the most important trend for next year’s fashion is fashion aquatic. We’ve seen it everywhere on the catwalk, it was even in Victoria’s Secret 2011 show!
With that watery trend in mind, look at Charlize Theron’s Vogue US December 2011 cover and breathe – it gets better! The inside pictorial, as photographed by the amazing Annie Leibovitz is way more impressive than the cover. Have A LV Trunk For Coffe Table!

I think I’m getting my Christmas mood on (must be because of the John Lewis video)! No, this is not about Christmas decorations! It’s about decorations tout court! Home stuff keeps on stealing my eye from the usual fashion talk! The latest? A gorgeous piece of LV vintage trunk I came across which would make a perfect coffee table.
I realize the one pictured below could use some restoration work, but either way, I think it would make a great addition to any fashionista’s house! Oh, and check out the Goyard beauty after the jump! Sigh, aren’t they beautiful? (thank you, Claudia for sharing!)

This was, apparently, another one of those baby weekends! Julia Restoin Roitfeld just announced that she was pregnant (hoping this is true and not just another false alarm).
Julia Restoin-Roitfeld and her boyfriend, model Robert Konjic are rumoredly expecting a baby in the early summer of 2012 since Julia is now three months along. She joined a long list of celebrities who attended Victoria’s Secret 2011 fashion show so here she is, in her etat de grace, looking amazing! Also – I guess that makes Carine Roitfeld a granny?

Get Your Christmas Mood On! John Lewis Ad Campaign By Dougal Wilson

For the usually “Dear Monday” snarky people, the following video might be just the right push of the button to justify a brand new irony at Monday’s address. For the rest of us, however, John Lewis’s Holidays ad campaign is a perfect occasion to show them beautiful misty eyes!
I first pressed play with serious reserves because I already saw this John Lewis campaign in so many places, recommended by so many, I was on the verge of rejecting it for being too viral (is there such a thing as too viral? mhyeaaah… moving on). Please, don’t do the same! Take a minute and a half of your time and watch this John Lewis ad directed by Dougal Wilson (an award winning director specialized on commercials and music videos)! It’s a spell waiting to be cast!

Forget the Versace H & M madness! Take a look at the completely fashion head turning, fashion spirit corrupting H & M Conscious Fall 2011 collection!
The ad campaign, as gracefully sustained by Frida Gustavsson and Caroline Brasch Nielsen is one of the best attempts at conscious styling I’ve seen so far! Not only the prints are breathtakingly beautiful, but the cuts, the shoes fill in any fashion gap possible. I have a soft spot for the shoes – the shape of the heels plus the floral patterns look dreamy. I’m so heading over to H&M these days! Care to join me in a conscious fashion statement? Milla Jovovich, A 2012 Campari Calendar Girl

Milla Jovovich is back and determined to conquer the world! Following the success of yet another Resident Evil movie, Milla was seen in The Three Musketeers movie, also packed with action, guns and explosions a la Anderson.
Of course she couldn’t be otherwise but a fully gadgeted, extremely resourceful – after all, the movie was directed by her husband. Now for a different Milla, pick up a copy of this year’s (well, technically next year’s) Campari Calendar. She’s looking all couture-ish and gorgeous, completely mastering the modeling task like any other action packed movie she’s starring in! Supermodels Do Duran Duran’s Girl Panic

I know you missed the supermodels! I did! If there’s one thing that’s’ better than great music, it’s having greatly beautiful supermodels starring in supergood music videos! (Helena Christensen makes a wonderful drunk, if I may say so. Naomi Campbell makes a great self-absorbed, self-sufficient individual and Eva Herzigova is perfectly floating with no strings attached whatsoever.)
Duran Duran’s Girl Panic video gets a hold of you! There’s so much going on in that video, I can’t look elsewhere and pretend it’s just a song. The girls? The clothes, the setting? I just watch it. Again. And Again. Let’s watch it together! (and discuss it after)
