How could Mr Louboutin, I wondered, take on the challenge of designing Cinderella’s shoes when he started in this business by making shoes for cabaret dancers? One of my dearest childhood princesses, Cinderella, was going to wear the very epitome of shoes luxury, red soled Christian Louboutin shoes. I was, I admit, pretty deceived.

I am, you see, one of those who think that paying obscene amounts of money for a pair of shoes is not a priority. Swedish D.J. Avicii is the latest personality promoting Ralph Lauren’s Denim & Supply Fall 2012. He also worked on a music video for the Ralph Lauren Denim occasion, video set to be released in the first days of August. Because, you know, regardless of who and what you do, you’ll still wear jeans & tshirts and not some fancy couture! (don’t cast the stone, it’s Tom Ford who said that!) {NYmag}

Just days after we celebrated the happy announcement of Claire Danes’ pregnancy and Camila Alves’ third pregnancy, here’s another double baby joy: Sienna Miller gave birth to a baby girl (momentarily, there’s no official word about when, where and details about the baby). Kourtney Kardashian also gave birth this weekend, also to a baby girl.

Because nothing’s low profile in the Kardashian family, the little one will carry a heavy name: Penelope Scotland (Disick). Fancy, huh? (uh, where are my manners? Congrats to Kourtney and her longtime partner, Scott Disick who are also parents to a little boy, Mason, 2)

My dahlings?! Have you seen Lanvin’s Fall Winter 2012 2013 Ad Campaign? A foggy, but still eloquent image has just surfaced, depicting the very spirit of Alber Elbaz funny vision. Let us not forget that this fall’s fashion is severe and austere. How could Alber ever bend under that rule? Oh, and: weren’t we tired of seeing celebrities in magazines and ad campaigns? Much has been said about Rachel Weisz when she and Daniel Craig got married. It was truly surprising, at least for those who aren’t in the industry and, consequently, have their own image of who this and that actor / actress really is. Be can barely scratch the surface of their real lives, so there’s no telling what really happens in the movie industry.

My dahlings? Have you seen the amazing couture collection that was Givenchy Haute Couture Fall 2012? Majestic. Flawless. Riccardo Tisci’s sense of Haute Couture keeps mesmerizing me each and every season. And that’s as good as can be. It means fashion isn’t all lost in the commercial labyrinth of its glamorized industry.

I’m sensing capes, fringes and all kinds of embroideries (besides leather, biensur) are the main coordinates this fall. At least as far as I’m concerned. Just hit the jump and be amazed at Tisci’s truly haute couture abilities!

There’s no need for intricate sartorial details (as even styledotcom observed – there’s no sophisticated tailoring in this collection), all you need is a handful of sequins and a well – placed embroidery.
