How To Dress For Graduation. Not!

So here’s how they dress for graduation in Ukraine, huh? Meet Anastasia who just attended the festivities for High School Graduation dressed in a Dolce & Gabbana lookalike dress.(there must be something Dolce in the air – here I am talking about the Italian label again – wink)

Unarguably a good looking young lady who spends hours on the fash interwebs and who decided to be crowned as the most fashionable graduate in her school. She became the most controversial graduate instead as Russian media was all over the event (as reported by AnimalNY) and made a matter of national concert out of the see through black lace dress (not to mention that the buzz created sent Anastasia’s mom to the ER with heart issues).

Remember I was seduced by Laetitia Casta’s look in the latest Dolce & Gabbana perfume ad campaign? Everything about her, about the simple stone backdrop was sensual and natural. Now here she is with Noah Mills (photographed by Mario Testino) for the same Dolce & Gabbana perfume (available pour femme and pour homme). If this is how people behave when they’re wearing the new Dolce perfume, they’d better get working on the fragrance for children too! {tFS}

I sometimes wear fabric wrapped around me wrists as jewelry – like accessories. Not to mention the usual scarf around my neck! From fabric to lace, here we are today, talking about lace jewelry.

Stitch from the Heart (nice name, huh?) makes these pretty lace earrings, cuffs, necklaces, headbands and bridal bouquet wraps. While the bouquet wraps, the necklaces and the headbands look pretty understandable, but lace earrings? I’ve never dreamed of wearing any. Until today. Today I think I’m considering (at least) trying a pair to see for myself how it works. How about you? Dare to wear lace jewelry?

Among the many awards picked up by Justin Bieber at last night’s Teen Choice Awards 2012 ceremony (count Male Artist, Single by a Make Artist for “Boyfriend”, Summer Music Star) there was one particular award that sums up the delicate style state of our young generation.

Justin Bieber, my dahlings, was presented with the Fashion Icon Award at the Teen Choice Awards! Fashion Icon! Justin Bieber! I’ll just leave it to that… Because I think you need to add some things on the Back To School list – at least on the wardrobe section! whatever you do, please be careful when you’re choosing the underwear – Justin lets it all out, remember his business suit?)

Although there’s more than just Alice Dellal in the new Chanel Fall Winter 2012 2013 ad campaign, Karl Lagerfeld having photographed Cora Emmanuel, Lindsey Wixson, Kati Nescher, Saskia de Brauw and Stella Tennant, Alice definitely catches your eye. Because, as smart as Carine Roitfeld was at styling her, young Miss Dellal looks like your average shoplifter!

I’m now trying to understand the mechanisms of Katie Holmes’ fame through divorce. The celebrity game seems a merciless love affair with the public. Who either loves you or it doesn’t.
