6 Unusual Ways To Remember 9/11
September 11th, 2012 by kpriss
It’s that day again. I remember watching a movie the other day and hearing the main character say “10 minutes won’t change my life”. 9 / 11 will always mark that day when seconds changed lives. And if nothing can turn back time, at least we have to remember what we’re taking with us from that day on. What we learned.
And the most important thing is (isn’t it always?): love! The littlest things matter! Don’t let anyone go through the door in the morning without a loving kiss & embrace! But I don’t want to darken this day. I want to remember. Every way I can. Here’s some really surprising ways some people chose to remember it!
Timeless Fashion: Carolina Herrera Spring Summer 2013 Collection
September 10th, 2012 by kpriss
Season after season, I tend to treasure Carolina Herrera’s collections because of their timeless feminine value. For Spring Summer 2013, I keep the same perspective on every model from Carolina Herrera’s catwalk.
The poetry of every single dress was undeniably romantic and above seasons & trends. In my view, Carolina doesn’t design for a certain age. She’s defining a new age with every drawing, with every item of her collections. With her, there’s no more young or old, there’s no more this or that season. There’s just Carolina Herrera… (you can convince yourself by seeing more here)
Textured, Edgy Cutouts: Catherine Malandrino Spring Summer 2013 Collection
September 10th, 2012 by kpriss
I’m not a grand admirer of edgy cutouts. However, Catherine Malandrino’s Spring Summer 2013 collection was filled with joyful games of cuts & textures, making it easier for me to deal with the edginess of such risky combinations. Below just two examples of Catherine’s seasonal game, just enough to make you want to see more! (or just follow my Pinterest Board here to keep up with all the Fashion Week goodies)
Jennifer Lawrence’s Silver Linings Playbook W October 2012 Cover!
September 10th, 2012 by kpriss
Jennifer Lawrence, my dahlings, like you’ve never seen her before! That’s the promise made by W October 2012 on their very cover! Because, if you do take a closer look, that’s our beloved Hunger Games Jennifer Lawrence. Only in a very dramatic, feathered, theatrical setup.
And that’s not a coincidence, I think: Jennifer Lawrence was at the Toronto Film Festival just the other day, promoting her latest movie “The Silver Linings Playbook”. Jennifer was also introducing us her latest hairdo: Jennifer Lawrence’s hair is now slick raven dark. (Jennifer also stars in another movie set to premiere this fall: House at the End of the Street)
I have to applaud Jennifer for not picking the easy way to Hollywood’s peak of fame. She’s taking it one dramatic role at the time! And she’s really good at what she’s doing too! However, about the dark hair – I’m not really sure it’s suiting her…)

Keira Knightley’s Weird Silver Sleeve On Vogue US October 2012 Cover
September 10th, 2012 by kpriss
Since Keira Knightley is already promoting Anna Karenina (and even Banana Republic has a collection inspired by the said movie), it’s not at all surprising to see Keira doing a Vogue US October 2012 cover! Especially when she has so much to talk about now that she has a fiancé!
Although the preview image isn’t at all generous in information and details we can speculate upon, I like Keira’s smoky eyed makeup but I can’t take my eyes off of that silver corseted sleeve.
Where does it come from? It’s like a high fashion cast. Would’ve loved to see her arm bejeweled, not corseted like that… (and if it’s Chanel, I know they had some pretty sparkling options to decorate her arm instead of that… thing!)
Blake Lively About Her Husband, Ryan Reynolds In Marie Claire Magazine
September 10th, 2012 by kpriss
As we recently found out, Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds are actually married. So, looking back at Blake Lively’s cover feature for Marie Claire’s UK October 2012 issue, here’s what she had to say about what she loves about her man: “it’s definitely attractive when a man can dress well. […] is effortless and has this old – timey sort of feel – you could take a snapshot of them and they could exist in any time period.”
Black & White Glow In The Dark Alexander Wang Spring Summer 2013
September 10th, 2012 by kpriss
So it’s clearly a black & white summer, next year! Alexander Wang took the deconstructed way to spice things up, but it’s still the same austere, basic palette for what should be the most joyful and imaginative season of the year.
Not that I’m complaining, I love simplicity and I still think that simple style is the most sophisticated style. But there was another twist to Alexander Wang’s Spring Summer 2013: the glow – in – the – dark clothes & accessories! While looking completely normal and apparently ordinary, the white garments came to life once the lights went off. Loved it!
(I also loved that among the models on Alexander Wang’s catwalk were Erin Wasson and Liberty Ross, the beautiful wife of the Snowwhite and the Huntsman director who cheated on her with Kristen Stewart)
