Avant-Fashion Without Moderation By Stefano Gabbana

You know I have a thing against pre-season fashion shows. Meaning I don’t keep the fashion shows up to presenting date because I think it’s amoral. Because I don’t want to think about summer when it’s snowing and I don’t want to go boots hunting when I’m wearing bikini.

I may have been in minority until now because the big names of fashion are getting tired of this pre-season madness. And by that I guess you know what I mean – Stefano Gabbana’s recent declarations:

“I don’t want cherries or strawberries at Christmas anymore. I want to eat, dress and live on time. I think we all need to sit back and ponder over this anxiety we all have of constantly needing to anticipate,”

This may seem plain utopia to most fashion makers who need the stylist’s cahier to work the upcoming collection, but to the average fashion consumers it’s order in chaos. I love being au courant with every fashion news avant anyone else, but is it really fun to know every detail of those summer collections when you’re getting ready for a snow fight? (via wwd)

Maybe the pressure’s getting to Steffano Gabbana but he knows he can afford the priviledge to make a statement like that. What anxiety is he grumbling about? He ‘s a millionaire because he anticipates trends and thus goes through anxiety to produce every collection. Its part of his glamorous job but he should eat some humble pie and realise his so called anxiety is a luxury compared to ordinary citizens going through The crisis.
As for the question, personally I like seeing next summer’s details in winter. But NOT vice verse LOL!

Looking at that photo of those two laying in the snow in bathing suits makes me want to superimpose myself into the picture backing up a dump truck full of snow to dump on them. ;)
As for what Steffano (Yo)Gabbana is saying there is some credence to his cry but like Dolly Bird said if his only problem is to collaborate with the other designers to decide if it going to be GREEN OR VERT next season then he better just sitting down with his crayons and pick next season’s to die for colour! With the way the financial world is heading fashion maybe the last thing on peoples’ minds. :(

For my taste designers rules too much! How much I love fashion I don’t care at all what next season’s colour is. I want to decide that myself. What do I know in what kind off mood I am next year? What I want to wear next year?
As Kpriss, I don’t like pre-season shows.

Dolly Bird is right, its Steffano’s luxury problem and so is Ellington, heading fashion is the last thing on my mind with the state of the financial world though the state of the world in general also. But typing this….to me its a tiny, tiny bit off a luxury problem too, I’m still able make things myself. Or customize older clothes.

Yes, girls there’s a lot that’s going to change…….
