I actually took the time to read the piece they written in Vogue. About Lady Gaga! Can you believe it? If someone told me few days ago that Gaga would be on the cover of Vogue and that I’ll be reading her interview, I’d say no way! Not unless volcanoes start spreading ice cubes!
And still, here I am, after having read the story and did not actually took enough time to weigh on all this. I chose writing about it straight on, as it comes right out of my heart / mind. So Vogue US appears to be running out of buyers besides trying so hard to inject a young spirit into this old, almost magical magazine.
Almost magical? yes, almost because, as far as I know, magic doesn’t come easy and surely isn’t as popular as Lady Gaga is. Well educated and allegedly very polite and ceremonial, Lady Gaga as portrayed in the latest Vogue March 2011 issue made quite an impression on Jonathan Van Meter (the author of the Vogue article), With her pink wig and arrogant stare, Lady Gaga will stop at nothing before conquering the world. Not even from shamelessly getting a Vogue feature just before launching her new album! You know the same old Vogue trick, except this time it’s not an actress promoting her upcoming movie. (the story continues after the jump with more images, click here for the gallery!)
Photographed by Mario Testino, Gaga is making her best Isabella Blow impression, even wearing McQueen for the occasion. Twice. Pretty remarkable for a girl who works so hard at being on top of the world. She should maybe take a break and learn to enjoy life? So we, little monsters, could enjoy our own respective, modest lives? Oh, Gaga, there’s so much more to life than power and fame! Good luck to you, anyway! You’re pretty spectacular to watch (from a respectful, safe distance).
Also – please ditch the pink wig and the bleached eyebrows look! It’s different and edgy, true, but too much, even for you! (if you’re curious about the interview, it’s available here)

I have to admit that the styling is great on this cover & Lady Gaga is very hip right now so a Vogue cover seems appropriate for 2011.
The dress = 10/10 – wow!
And her new single is boring too…..
Thanks for sharing. The clothes and the colours on the cover are a masterpiece. She, however, is disgusting. What a waste of beauty!
I am not a fan of Lady Gaga I have to admit that I find her music and her theatricality boring, but she is styled nicely on this Vogue cover.
The clothes and styling are beautiful but why needed it to be like a Isabella Blow homage? I find it sort of inappropriate. And her new single is almost a copy of Madonna’s Express Yourself. I love(d) that song (I still love it!!) and I remember the video so well: awesome!
Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, such a beautiful name, IS a very talented and gifted songwriter, singer and musician. I think she or the people around her used her up too soon and too fast and all is too much. I find that a pity. Long piece yes, but hey, Express Yourself and am Born This Way! ;)
