As our friend Ellington suggested, I went searching for Zoë Saldana’s pictorial from Vanity Fair, September 2009. And what a wonderful, epic photo shoot I found!
After being a very important part of the new Star Trek (as our recently featured Zachary Quinto), Zoë Saldana is ready to take the world by storm with another super sci-fi movie under James Cameron’s directorial supervision: Avatar. (in case you missed last week’s internet buzz, you can check out Avatar’s trailer after the jump!). But Vanity Fair brought another Zoë Saldana to light: an angel of Harlem! (the story continues right after the jump with more images!)
Trained as a ballerina but passionate about sci-fi, it comes as little surprising that her blockbuster debut was made in a Spielberg movie (The Terminal). Vanity Fair’s September 2009 issue includes this beautiful pictorial signed by Michael Roberts with Hollywood’s new sensation Zoë Saldana.
It’s tres cinematic, tres chic and tres clean. And even though Zoë wears Steven Jones headpieces, I still can’t match that to the inspiration I got seeing the wonderful head pieces worn by Arlenis and Chanel in the Harper’s Bazaar photo shoot!

Awwwww…….for that trailer and Zoë, see her for the first time, very beautiful indeed. Yes, I see what you mean, this is like blaxaplation? Not really like a good honest fashion shoot as with the other girls/
That Avatar is what I call a Fantastic Film! Now that’s a blockbuster even I cannot resist I believe…..going to watch that trailer again……
I am glad that you posted the Vanity Fair Zoe shoot. She is lovely and very talented and she looks great in these photos. Actually her first noticeable movie was “Center Stage” where she played a ballerina in training.
I also loved her in the remake of “Guess who’s coming to dinner?” Called “Guess Who?” which also stared the late Bernie Mack. She is one of my favourite actors and I loved her as Lt. Nyota Uhura in the new Star Trek. She and Zachary Quinto who played Spock made a very beautiful couple in the film.
I am so going to see Avatar as I love good sci-fi ! :)
Zoe looks positively ravishing in these images.
She looks fab!!
Oh, I’m so going to see it too! Can’ wait for it! Cameron did a wonderful job, comme d’habitude. And it seems this one outshines Titanic’s budget too!
Zoe was brilliant in that Star Trek movie. Pairing great with a Vulcan!
I had no idea she was in so many flicks before this. She reminds me of Thandie Newton (one of my favorite actors). Only taller.
Sometimes I mess them up as well.
WOW! This is definitely a film to watch on the big screen. Not on dvd. It’s too beautiful……..
