There’s so much it could be done when having a fashion magazine at your disposal! Imagine the beauties and the unbelievable things you’d put in those pages, month after month!
Still, you’d have to consider that there’s more to it than meets the eye and a magazine has to survive. Financially. Hence, Cameron Diaz covers Vogue’s June 2009. By Mario Testino! (the story continues right after the jump with more pictures and a video!)
The green/white layout is allegedly a reference to environmental issues. But listening to Cameron babbling about her past/future, her shaping the world and being so fortunate to travel and make decisions kinda raises my eyebrows (and not in a good way). The photoshoot, located in Palm Springs, has a terrible cheap feeling to it because of the overluxurious surroundings and cliché outfits/poses.
Cameron is a beautiful woman, there’s no doubt about it, she makes a simple, beautiful cover, but everything looks and feels so empty, so shallow and skin deep, I could easily ignore this June 2009 issue of Vogue. Could you? (photos via)

Yes I think that I will pass on this June Vogue issue. I don’t mind Cameron Diaz, but I am not taking enough with her to buy this issue.
She looks lovely on the cover and I adore the shoes she is wearing with the white bikini.
Cameron is not really beautiful but pretty, attractive. More like what we see around us on a daily basis. But this cover looks at first sight like a Cosmopolitan. Although I haven’t seen that magazine in ages….
I totally agree with Adriana.
It looks just plain.
(rumor has it hat she has one of the worse skin complexions in Hollywood. Her face is a nightmare for makeup artists)
Ellington, those shoes… :X
Adriana and deka – I think it’s more her smiling so much that makes her beautiful to my eyes. I don’t really appreciate beauties who can’t smile/laugh. It’s like they’re not alive.
Daydreamer (nice having you here! welcome!) I really hesitated when I wrote the article. Because not many dare to pick on a celeb/celeb cover. The truth must be said, however, and that is plain!
In some movies you can see her bad skin complexion. She’s only human. Cameron has done some great comedies and I love her for making me laugh so loud. So I’m certainly not anti-Cameron. No, no…..it’s indeed that plain cover. That’s not Vogue as Anna like to pretend it is. It looks like a very ordinary women magazine. Which I don’t mind to read in the doctor’s waiting rooms lol!
