Not a day without Vogue! Sounds about right, doesn’t it? Except in this particular Vogue case, everything seems weirder than usual. I can understand and completely accept that you may not feel the same as me about Rooney’s cover, but I think that the Sandy pictorial hits the same question marks within you as it did within me.
Now please help me understand the following image! Masterfully executed by Patrick Demarchelier (and – you guessed it – featured in the same Vogue US February 2013 issue), Liu Wen’s golden paint picture has me wondering what’s it about.
Granted, I don’t know what the associated article is, all I have is the image. But – like they say, a picture’s worth a thousand words, and this one is more like a thousand question marks. I love the idea, though. It’s a classic, I know. But something about this image still leaves me restless – and I think it’s more than just the head / face piece… Should I just get over it and enjoy the general perspective?

Yes, get over it. Enjoy the picture. I usually look at lots of fashion pics like that…Just enjoy Liu in her sort of gold-ish pink whatever…
You have missed the pink factor then? Really ;)
I agree with Apollonia..
You are not seeing the forest for the trees.
Perhaps the picture is about use of gold in cosmetics ??
but for while, you have a beautiful image made by great professionals. Enjoy it :-)
