Are you ready to see Brad Pitt’s Chanel No. 5 perfume ad campaign? Because, my dahlings, next week you’ll be seeing it everywhere! Wwd reported that the Joe Wright directed campaign (Joe Wright is also the director of Anna Karenina‘s latest adaptation for the big screen) is scheduled to launch October 15th and that it’s going to be about seduction. And changing perspective. And legends. Oh, and about perfume!
Judging by the picture below, we can safely assume that the campaign is going to be black & white and that Brad Pitt is wearing denim on denim for the occasion. Also, after the jump, you’ll see (hear) three teasers to imagine a bit Brad Pitt doing Chanel No. 5. (which, in my opinion, is not the smartest move, given that he’s more low key these days and his seduction tale with Angelina Jolie was shaded by his marriage with Jennifer Aniston and people’s prejudgments about Angie. But hey, that’s just my perspective! Check out the teasers after the jump!)

I am convinced that Brad’s current or former love life has nothing to do with this epic fail in my opinion. Chanel 5 and Brad Pitt? Oh, come on! If Chanel wants a younger audience as their target I can come up with better names if it needs to be a male.
There was a time the image of the bottle was just enough….
Or I should say “There was a time that Coco Chanel’s name was enough to sell the perfume”?
And of course not to forget Marilyn Monroe’s famous remark :)
And when does this triangle Brad/Angelina/Jennifer thingy stop at last?
When they’ll look happy?
at least Jennifer does, with Justin Theroux. And that’s peaches!
I honestly look forward to seeing the actual ad, all these trailers don’t tease me in the right way! Like you said, Chanel No 5 had a certain image. A certain legendary hype to live up to. As a potential customer, Brad Pitt doesn’t do the magic trick for me.
I am curious too. Of course! But I am the most curious why he, Brad Pitt, wants to be the face for Chanel 5?
And sorry but the more I listen to his voice the more hilarious it sounds because his whispering voice makes me think of the latest Brad and Angelina gossip: a new build s*x cave on their property in France!!
I just saw the full ad. I didnt like it. At all.
Too rough.
He seems a bit out of place and his voice tone is not convincing .
After I read about a new documentary Brad produced with all the right arguments to legalize drugs except one: “No Brad, not everyone can find everything illegal in 24 hours. A celebrity perhaps with people in their entourage but not us normal people. Not me and I live in the Netherlands.” :P
Anyway, it does look a lot like a commercial to promote a drug. I can’t believe he’d quit weed by the way. I’d seen it last night on YouTube at the front page right after the release. It made me laugh out loud. And on tv some minutes ago. On a huge HD screen it’s even more ridiculous. Why did he do this? Or what’s the director’s point? It looks like Chanel 5 made him high and not in a good way! Bad weed Brad? :D
Epic fail.
I read an interview with Brad and director Eugene Jarecki of The House I Live In at the website of the Huffington Post this weekend. A documentary about the war on drugs. An interesting read. It does make a lot of sense. I share their vision. Good for Brad to have the guts to produce this project.
But this commercial….no! On the other hand if he use the money he earns with work like this and continues to use it for projects like this? I go on buying Chanel 5 as long as I can afford it since I would do that anyway whether he is the face for the campaign or someone else.
I am a bit under the weather and reading Daily Fail and everything else trivial. There’s a Part Two of the video! And of course the Daily Fail and what’s new the models involved look like Angelina and Jennifer…..One is blond the other is dark….ridiculous!!
OMG, version no1 is on tv! :D
