Don’t you just love it when a fashion designer label expands his / her clothing expertise into home design? It’s like your home is on the catwalk! Issey Miyake reportedly teamed up with Artemide, an Italian label, for a sustainable lamp project called IN – EI.
IN-EI (Japanese for shade, shadow), Issey Miyake’s Artemide lamp, can take various shapes but keeps the fashion groove intact. Can you actually believe this lamp was made using a mathematical program with three-dimensional geometric formulas?
Though it hasn’t any internal structure to sustain its shape or its numerous folding possibilities, the material used in the fabrication of the IN-EI lamp (recycled plastic) enables it to remain loyal to the original shape and destination. Its transparency is superior to the paper’s transparency, thus spreading more light than the conventional lamps. It’s really an outstanding project, isn’t it?
