I’m continuously fascinated by the after effects of Makeup and Photoshop on a person. Not because I want to highlight the wrongs in doing such things (as in concealing or retouching the reality, hence deceiving the world), but because I always keep my makeup to a minimum (read zero makeup) and I’m really not good at anything makeup – related.
So here’s Olivia Wilde, the new Hollywood darling, gracing the Marie Claire August 2011 cover as opposed to her every day look, without professional makeup or digital enhancements. Do you favor her cover look, fully knowing that it’s a distorted reality, just to preserve her “doll”-ish fabricated images? Or do you embrace her bare faced, natural look, enthusiast about her being a normal people, like every one of us? (photos via 1, 2)

I adore the fact that Olivia goes out without makeup. She’s a real person too. I think all celebrities are aware of the retouching that goes on and know that they don’t have much say in what goes on. In magazines, most people want to see flawless. Since none of us are naturally completely flaw free, makeup and photoshop contribute to the “perfect look”.
But I prefer Olivia when she’s freshfaced with no or very little makeup. She has a great bone structure and fantastic eyes. Why hide under the makeup?
I don’t see her eyes though ;) J/k, I like celebs looking normal like of all of us do when running for errands.
