I always wondered what would make someone who’s really passionate about something (let’s say guitars) buy a guitar that’s not signed by a great name in the matter.
I always thought it was like buying a Chanel microwave oven – sure, it looks good, it has a tingling sound to it, but all I care is that is serves well its purposes.
Thus, I don’t completely understand the snobbish desire to purchase a Chanel acoustic guitar (especially since it was announced at appx $3,900 back in December 2008) unless it was signed by a virtuoso in the guitar making art. (more pictures after the jump!)
First presented in the Spring Summer 2009 collection, The Chanel acoustic Guitar makes the envy of any chic young new generation hippie who thinks Woodstock was the It mall of the 70s. What did the Kaiser thought when he made this guitar? (photos via Chanel.com, Style.com)

Chanel is these days like a kind off expensive warehouse label. Everything is available. Now a acoustic guitar. What doesn’t Karl design these days?
I could just see the Kaiser playing this guitar to wee Kaiser and singing him a German lullaby.
I am waiting for the Chanel Harmonica.
