While feeling funny about already talking January 2010 magazines and observing they still log on to the supers – safe – mode, I want to point that Elle Magazine’s perspective is rather twisted and mean (you’ll see just what I mean throughout this very article).
Helena Christensen (who, for the record, I favorite amongst the supers and by right, for she truly is a beautiful woman) covers Elle January 2010, the UK edition. i-D’s cover trifecta for the 2009 winter Flesh and Blood Issue is not without a certain charm. But still. Don’t you feel tired of all that Lara Stone overexposure?

Three beautiful ladies wearing as less as black leather boots for a magazine cover will sell despite of who they are and what they do (or used to do). Because clothes-less issues as even more relevant than the actual clothes! Kate Moss, Christy Turlington, Naomi Campbell, Amber Valletta (and two girls I can’t recognize) just laughing their hearts out and taking the set down! Now I know why everyone wanted to be a model back in the days! (via)
Beyonce still rocks her L’Oreal contract. Because she’s worth it. The new L’Oreal Holidays special ad campaign features Queen Bee wearing a beautiful fringe flapper dress and a highly filtered and photoshopped pretty face. (can you believe we’re already talking about Christmas collections?)
No, she’s not showing off her dress but her eyes makeup. With a little help from the digital retouching team. Because she’s worth it. Again! Seeing this makes me think I’ll give up makeup completely and become a pro in Photoshopping. That way, I can retouch my own photos any way I please. Isn’t Photoshop a wonderful beauty tool? There goes another magazine highlighting the supermodels! Always a pleasure, an enchantment to see those lovely faces back in the spotlight.
This time it’s C Magazine making the supers waves with a story about supermodels out and about California: natural born beauties or simply adopted by the sunny land Carolyn Murphy, Cindy Crawford, Peggy Moffitt, Tatjana Patitz, Kirsty Hume, Guinevere Van Seenus and Lauren Hutton. It may have started on wrong foot.. ahem cover, but Harper’s Bazaar US September 2009 seem to go on wonderfully after you turn the first page. (I still need cleaning up after that Moss thing! No make-up trace, that’s a start!)
Supermodels (missed them yet?) go supernatural for Peter Lindbergh’s lenses. Bare, beautiful faces and secrets to flawless complexions, that’s the only thing this Harper’s Bazaar pictorial needs! Just few words written here and there, the impressive makeup-less super portraits make me feel that there’s still hope for healthy fashion! (more pictures right after the jump!) (photos via)
Oh, what a royal issue this Vogue Italy July 2009! It seems year after year, the July Issues of Vogue Italia are set to defy any Summer magazine standards and serve amazingly beautiful content. Chilled.

I was very reserved when I saw Kristen McMenamy’s photos from Vogue Italia July 2009. Photographed by Steven Meisel and supposedly being a recognition of her supermodel status, the pictures look pretty frightening.
Not because of Kristen. Or maybe because of her. But it all looks so cold, so unalive I can’t think of anything else but the undead, goth inspiration for this upcoming Fall season.
