It’s not what you would expect from fashion magazines getting ready for summer, isn’t it? Marie Claire June 2011 and Allure June 2011 both feature pregnant stars on their covers. Which could be great. Only it’s not. Why?
First because Ginnifer Goodwin and Kate Hudson on Marie Claire June 2011 cover is happening because they did a movie together? (Something Borrowed). Which is perfectly alright with me, only the cover comes a bit late, the movie has ceased to be a novelty for a while now (it has premiered in theaters for almost two weeks now) and is truly inaccurate: Kate Hudson is currently pregnant in her (I think) ninth month! Hence, a far cry from the cover silhouette! (don’t miss January’s cover right after the jump!)
Now moving further to Allure who is capitalizing on January Jones for the June 2011 cover. She’s a gorgeous young woman, undoubtedly appealing, especially for the Mad Men fans. But where’s her lovely baby bump? Taking the pictures way in advance for a magazine issue can cause authenticity issues. At least for me. And as bugging and unstylish as it can be, sometimes, I’d rather go for tabloid – like magazines. At least their pictures are new? How about you? Ever felt strangely ambivalent about this?
