Not to be geeky, but to be glamorous? I’ve seen them here and there on the catwalk, even on the street, now I’ve seen the story in the papers (newsday) so I decided to break the silence on this alliance that I strongly believe to work.
But no one’s really convinced that sandals (or open toes) can make a true match with tights or socks. The tights – sandal fever is going on for 2 years already and people still gush about it.

Don’t know why, really! And most of all, they’re afraid to try! And I’m not talking about wearing tights in the same color as the sandal. That would be so beyond “playing safe” it would be truly playing “I’m too cold to wear a sandal and bare legs”. I don’t think there’s some kind of age barrier stopping someone who wants to sing along that socks-sandals tune. What do you say? Would you? (did you?)

I guess with the right shoes and socks it may work! But not in my hick town:)
…and maybe not in broad daylight ;) but it could very well work, indeed :)

Very nice, but only with white socks.
Well, I understand the reticence. See, to me, stocking feet belong to the realm of privacy, the intimacy of your house, the few people you know well and spend time there with you. So to go public showing hosed toes especially to the other gender, I do feel a little shy. On the other hand though, because of that I do find it a little exciting, braking the rules, capturing the glances of some foot fetish guy, who enjoys the transparency, see not see..that’s what one of my ex told me once. So I tried and i liked it, it is liberating and very sexy if done wth the right oufit.
I have done and got laughed at by strangers on a train.
They weren’t cute little high heels like this either – they were blue, chunky, open-toed platforms and the only shoes I could find
1. in my size
2. which would make me feel like my legs were longer
3.weren’t heels so I’d be able to walk everywhere in them
I figured – “I need to wear socks to be comfortable, I realise that I’d look like a scoutmaster from hell but no one looks down at people’s shoes” – cuz I sure didn’t. I guess they do! haha! I do too becuz I’m a lot more shallow now and not as confident as I used to be !! Really, I think the moment you care what others think of your clothes and shoes, as a human being, you are truly lost.
