Julianna Margulies In Bordeaux Yves Saint Laurent Dress 2011 SAG Awards
January 31st, 2011 by kpriss
One of the colorful, yet safe dress choices of the night was Julianna Margulies. She showed up wearing a bordeaux Yves Saint Laurent dress. Simple, strapless, lovely, Julianna‘s gown was a perfect choice for her.
She was one of the winners tonight, at the 17th edition of the Screen Actors Guild SAG Awards 2011. She won an Actor for her performance in the TV Show The Good Wife. She couldn’t get any more radiant than she did when she first arrived on the Red Carpet, Julianna is always a stunner (at least when she picks the right dress for her body and personality, and this time, she did. Didn’t she?) (click here for the gallery!) (photos via)

Helena Bonham Carter’s Marc Jacobs Black And White Dress 2011 SAG Awards
January 31st, 2011 by kpriss
While everyone was waiting for something dramatically different from the Golden Globes Red Carpet (where Helena showed up wearing mismatched shoes), the 2011 SAG Awards brought normality back.
Helena Bonham – Carter was wearing a gorgeous gown signed by Marc Jacobs (from his 2011 Resort Collection) and very matched shoes. Looking almost too put together, Helena must have made it to some best dressed list tonight. She’s went for a too safe choice for the Helena I know, but I know she’s having fun dressing up for events, so I trust this wasn’t less fun just because her shoes were matching (the outfit and one another). Too bad for the frizzy hair, though – it’s gone, gone gone… (photos via 1, 2)

Nicole Kidman’s Nina Ricci’s Dress For 2011 SAG Awards
January 31st, 2011 by kpriss
Have you seen these two tonight? There’s love in the air, really! From the white, bridal dresses, to the Kidman – Urban lovebirds, the 2011 SAG Awards Red Carpet was love-ly!
Nicole Kidman is slowly making it to my favorite list. Not necessarily because of the dress – she’s wearing a black Nina Ricci dress from the 2011 Pre Fall collection – but because of her happy smile. She’s looking radiantly positive alongside her husband, Keith Urban. There’s something bugging me, though – doesn’t Nicole find a dress to fit her height? Or is she purposely showing her shoes? Sofia Vergara’s Blue Roberto Cavalli Dress For 2011 SAG Awards
January 30th, 2011 by kpriss
A special mention for the bright colored tonight – Sofia Vergara is wearing an electric blue Roberto Cavalli dress for the 2011 SAG Awards ceremony. Just like I did back on the Golden Globes Red Carpet for Katey Sagal, I’ll have to applaud Sofia Vergara for her bold choice.
Wearing such a colored dress could be a tricky thing, especially for someone who’s not as confident as Sofia is. I love her for being at such peace and ease with her gorgeous body. I love her for portraying such a joyful character in Modern Family, I love her for smiling so bright, I love her for so many reasons, I’ll stop right now before turning this into a Sofia Vergara hymn of praise. Yes, that’s one of the boldest cleavages tonight, so? (more images right after the jump, click here for the gallery!) (photos via)

Amy Adams White Herve Leroux Dress For 2011 SAG Awards
January 30th, 2011 by kpriss
And there goes another white dress for the 2011 SAG, Screen Actors Guild Awards. This is definitely a serious trend for tonight’s ceremony, as opposed to the green and pink main coordinates for the Golden Globes dresses list.
Amy Adams chose a sleek look with her white Herve L. Leroux (you may be familiar with Herve L Leroux style and name since he is the designer who originally founded the oh – so – known and worn house of Herve Leger). She was looking just wonderful with all that draped body hugging gown, embracing her body and proudly showing she’s not afraid or ashamed of her newly acquired mommy curves. At least she’s not looking anywhere near bridal. Isn’t she? (photos via 1, 2)
Winona Ryder’s White Alberta Ferretti Dress For 2011 SAG Awards
January 30th, 2011 by kpriss
Remember what I said earlier about the 2011 SAG Awards Red Carpet’s white, bridal look? I really did it without even thinking that I would be talking about an actual bridal dress on someone tonight!
Winona Ryder joined her Black Swan co star, Natalie Portman on the virginal white theme. She was wearing a white Alberta Ferretti dress from the Spring Summer 2011 bridal collection. Looking all radiant and sweet, Winona did her best bride impression and paired her white dress with a black evening purse and black earrings. While her look could be described as dull or overdressed, I’ll just stick to my thought – are they trying to deliver a message, these white dressed beauties? January Jones Carolina Herrera’s Lace Dress For 2011 SAG Awards
January 30th, 2011 by kpriss
I just told you who was my best dressed for the 2011 SAG Awards ceremony tonight. Now it’s time for the worse, in my opinion. Which can come across as strange since I usually love Carolina Herrera‘s timeless elegant creations and January Jones could pull a gorgeous impression in just about anything.
Except this. Her golden lace number was all classy and perfect. But for someone less younger than January. The dress looks stiff and unnaturally pretentious (as does her hair, but that’s another story, at least her stiff look was coherent). How do you feel about January Jones’ Carolina Herrera dress? (don’t you just love how they transform and adapt each catwalk look for the Red Carpet?) (click here for the gallery!) (photos via 1, 2)

Eva Longoria’s White Hobeika Dress For 2011 SAG Awards
January 30th, 2011 by kpriss
Though the Golden Globes were everything about green and pink shades, the 2011 SAG Awards red carpet seems to be all about bridal, pure white gowns. Eva Longoria falls in that trend with her Couture Georges Hobeika Spring Summer 2011 dress.
Though I think Eva Longoria would have pulled a greater look wearing a higher waisted dress, this white – gray – ish she actually chose for tonight’s 17th edition of the Screen Actors Guild awards ceremony is couture-ish enough to make a great impression on me. I do believe the original, catwalk model is better, so either Eva’s daring pulled together bodice doesn’t work on that dress or the cut is better on someone taller. What say you?
