Daria Werbowy And Her New Haircut For Maiyet Fall 2012 Campaign

Something happened to Daria Werbowy since that new haircut of hers! Have you noticed her doing catwalk presentations this season? (I dind’t think so…) How about major ad campaigns (save for the Cavalli one we already talked about)? Neither. I’m worried. There she goes for American brand Maiyet as photographed by Cass Bird in Kenya for their Fall 2012 ad campaign. Pretty. Natural. But I’d like to see her more often… {fgr}

I’m really clueless as to why Sarah Jessica Parker has a magazine cover, but according to Elle, she’s one of the nine actresses featured in the magazine’s annual Women in Hollywood issue. Part of which Emma Watson, Elle Fanning and Octavia Spencer are as well.

What pushed me into talking about Sarah Jessica Parker’s Elle November 2012 is her ageless appearance. There’s something about this woman – she must know some secret fountain of youth, otherwise it wouldn’t be possible for her to still look like that! Also – she gets the best possible styling and the most favorable angles in all her pictorials. How does she do it? (wait.. wasn’t that one of her movies? Hmmm)

We’ve seen her wearing less clothes in Vogue Italia, so this preview of Karlie Kloss doing the 2013 Pirelli Calendar looks odd. I mean… it’s Pirelli’s calendar! What’s Karlie doing all dressed up like that? But then again, we asked pretty much the same question about Adriana Lima’s pregnant baby bump in the said calendar. Something you’ll most likely see Kim Kardashian wear in the nearest future: Kanye West’s latest sandals for Giuseppe Zanotti. The white leaved strapped high heels sandals look definitely more fashionable and stylish than his past creations. (and hopefully more comfortable too, it doesn’t say how wearer – friendly they are just from a FB – shared photo…)

However, you should also note that the name and the look is not coincidentally similar to Kanye’s latest G.O.O.D. Music group album which was released on September 1 under the name (any ideas? – yes, you guess it right!) ‘Cruel Summer’ as reported by Prefixmag. Talking about marketing sans frontieres…

A little while back, I remember reading some speculations about who should play Princess Grace of Monaco in a biopic of the famous Grace Kelly. Now here’s a first look at Grace of Monaco as impersonated by Nicole Kidman. As her husband, the Prince Rainier of Monaco is Tim Roth and the movie follows the European Royal couple from December 1961 to November 1962. Nicole doesn’t look much like Grace to me, though… {firstshowing}

This story was inspired by a particular video describing (and time – lapsing) the arrangements made for the Maison Martin Margiela’s Spring Summer 2013 fashion show. Watching it clued me into thinking that some fashion week sets are definitely easier than others.

There’s an interesting debate around Yves Saint Laurent and their recent change of name. Imran Amed, from the BoF talks about the mass email saying that Yves Saint Laurent still goes by that name but when it comes to the Ready to Wear branch name, the brand must be referred to as Saint Laurent. Although the logo reads Saint Laurent Paris. However, if you’d like to credit photographs back at the said house, the caption should read “Saint Laurent by Hedi Slimane”… confused much? {bof}

Reading all those favorable reviews about Louis Vuitton’s collection, I remembered another show I loved from this Spring Summer 2013 fashion season: Barbara Bui. Yes, you’re reading that title right: not 5 you need for summer or 5 you can’t go through spring without! No! Barbara Bui’s Spring Summer 2013 collection has clothes you don’t want to go through any season without having them in your closet! I’m serious:

{1} Leather pants. Because we’re tough girls! (skinny or wide leg, leather pants need a place in your wardrobe!)
