It’s an Olympic year – Beijing is hosting the Olympics 2008. For the occasion, many commercial clocks start ticking. One of them is Gucci.
The Gucci Limited Edition for the 2008 Olympics is called 8-8-2008 and set to be released on January, the 28th, featuring 8 exclusive accessories with a sporty bent and mostly China red painted.
The Olympics kick off on August 8 and 8 is a lucky number in Chinese culture, this is the meaning of Frida Giannini’s Collection.
My favorite is the Gucci Bicycle ($3.420). Besides the oversized bag, everything looks incredibly ugly and extremely high priced (take for instance the mahjong – $3.150 or the watch – $1.415).
But that was my opinion! What do you think? The collection sounds good but tastes bad? Or sounds good and tastes excellent?

Nastia Liukin is not you average model. But then again advertising campaigns are hardly a models-only territoire.
A golden medal in the Beijing Olympics 2008 seems to have imposed Nastia in the world’s eyes. Bound to think of her as in terms of excellence, I’m looking at her new contract – the Spring Summer 2009 Ad Campaign for Max Azria and summarize it as wonderful. Could just as well be a fashion magazine spread, Max Azria’s SS 09 ad campaign with Nastia Liukin is set for gold! Couldn’t there be more of these campaigns were the model actually presents the clothes and not the other way around? (click picture to see larger image) (via wwd, people.com)

It’s that time once every four years! The Olympics have taken a glorious start (I don’t know about you, but I still think about that exquisite opening ceremony!). So now the competition is officially started, the race for the golden medal is a go. But you can have your own gold medallion…
…bag! It’s an interesting concept used by Puma. A Medallion shaped bag designed by George Omerod (a student designer) retailing for $49(the small one)-$79 could be the answer to your athletic dreams over night.(more after the jump)
