Ornella Vanoni L’Appuntamento

How have you been these days my lovelies? I thought I’d bring you something holiday-ish for this week’s break. Ornella Vanoni’s L’appuntamento is a magnificent piece of music. You should give it a try!

Have you ever been to Italy? Does this remind you even the least of Italy? This was the first time ever I truly liked an Italian song – it was brought to my attention by the lovely people who put together Ocean’s Twelve’s soundtrack and I can’t think of anything else other than that movie each time I listen to it. I hope your weekend is nothing short of amazing and, if you’re vacationing right now, have the time of your life!

The song is actually a cover after a Brazilian song (you can listen to it here). Ornella Vanoni, a multifaceted Italian artist, also known as an “Underworld Singer” released her version one year after the original was launched. Though she was really successful in Italy, the world has fallen in love with her only after her L’Appuntamento was included on the Ocean’s Twelve soundtrack, in 2004.

It’s lovely, it makes me feel all melancholic since I have been a few times to Italy. Though this song sounds more South-American to me. Never mind though it’s nice late summer music :)
