Though he has HBO’s SATC series to thank for his stardomness, Manolo Blahnik doesn’t feel waves of gratitude flowing towards the TV show and its cohorting fans.
Despite of the overwhelming economic recession, Manolo’s shoe business had a blooming year last year thanks to the “stupid satin shoes […] That shoe saved our company” (strange, since that stupid cobalt blue satin shoe was especially designed by Mr Manolo Blahnik for SATC’s Carrie!) What lies at the other end of full bank accounts upsets Mr. Blahnik: he doesn’t like the celeb status. He doesn’t like being recognized by simple taxi drivers. Mentions about SATC make him sick. That means SATC 2 will launch another shoe god? (via, photos via 1, 2)

I just want to say that I like the shoes:)
Oh deary, simple taxi-drivers? They recognise him? I wouldn’t you see!
What an ungrateful tool. Not to put too fine a point on it …
I still can believe the simple taxi driver recognize him. Still, he should be thankful to be a celeb designer. Cost most buyers were driven by that reason to buy his shoes.
He sounds petulant and ungrateful.
“simple taxi drivers”?!!
The nerve of that statement coming from a “simple cobbler”.
Maybe Louboutin and Choo will get more of push this time and take away his thunder.
I must say though I do like Carrie’s blue satin wedding shoe.
And to walk on those heels one needs those “simple taxi drivers”!!!
I felt the ungratefulness in his words too and I’m afraid that’s why I added the “simple” next to taxi drivers. To emphasize the level of ingratitude. However, the “stupid satin shoe” is his saying 100%.
Wow, if that is “stupid,” it a money stupid shoe. Manolo is like classic timeless shoes closet for me. But still, there are so many GREAT shoes designers to be picked. I love loubs (dah!) , Giuseppe Zanotti, Brian Atwood, Rupert Sanderson, and many more.
And I have heard that the first Manolo to be appeared in SATC were actually Jessica’s.
