You know that Stephanie Meyer’s next adaptation for the big screen is The Host (just in case Stephanie Meyer’s name has a familiar tingling but you can’t quite put your finger on it – she’s the notorious author of the even more notorious Twilight saga!). We talked about it before, when I also mentioned Saoirse Ronan as part of the cast. But I simply couldn’t resist this pink Flare cover of their April 2013 issue!
Diane Kruger, as you know, is one of my favorite characters / models / actresses and for no particular reason – I find myself to be rather subjective on this matter, for as pretty and as fashionable as she may be, her acting credentials are not as think or as impeccable as they should’ve been for me to so blindly support her. And still…
Posing pretty for Autumn De Wilde, Diane looks perfectly modern and modest at the same time, her Bottega Veneta dress is ah-dorable! And suitable, as Diane herself mentioned, in her Flare interview, that there’s a ‘Stepford Wife’ dimension to her character in The Host. But did you know that besides confiding in Karl Lagerlfed every now and then, Diane is passionate about cooking? She’s taking cooking lessons and growing vegetables in the garden of the LA home she shares with her longtime boyfriend, Joshua Jackson. Lovely! I knew there was something about this girl, something more than just blush, mascara and high heels!

I have this issue and it is a charming cover. : )
I for one think that Diane should have been tapped to play the Late Princess Grace rather than Nicole Kidman. She has Grace Kelly’s cool but smoldering blonde appeal and she would look stunning in the classic”To catch a Thief” ice blue gown. : )
I agree Ellington, a very good point.
I do love her acting skills. Diane needs the right parts. That’s the point. At first I wasn’t convinced about her acting but that was not fair. It was based on Troy and I didn’t like that part neither the film that much. Then I saw her European films and some parts were impressive. Very surprising. Lots of Hollywood actresses will never ever reach that level.
Lovely cover. I like the dress, I like the whole look.
Ah, yes! Fair point – now that you mentioned it, I find it hard to believe I’ll enjoy Nicole’s impersonation of Grace Kelly when the movie will be released! All I’ll think off will be that that role should’ve been Diane’s! ;)
