This is one special piece of how-to I came across today. A guide to the Summer Office Wardrobe from Michael Kors! So you won’t have any excuse for not being completely stylish and fashionable at the office this summer! Few simple, key rules to work your wardrobe around:
Freshen up your outfit with a single bright colored piece (cardi / shirt or skirt, never together). Wear sandals, never flip flops! Adjust your accessories to the season – forget the black, dark bags and somber accessories. Wear outfits that will allow you (and your skin) to breathe – not too tight, not too short. Showing your arms at the office is chic – never your cleavage or bare back. What do you think? Is this a complete guide, is there something more to add? (via)

Wear clothing that makes you feel comfortable. I feel very comfortable in black but I always wear it with colours. Always! I have a great red bag for instance. Lots of green stuff I do not see in the shops so I feel special. Red? Indeed, it’s everywhere! I own some nice red pieces yet.
Michelle looks awesome in pink but me? If I am sick even on my brightest day. Not good.
I bought Birckenstocks in the sales to wear indoors, no, no, they don’t go out ever. No way! But since I have them, I never wanted them: my feet are so thankful, they smile. :D
well, you know what? you should! I bought a pair of bright Hermes – orange Birkenstocks and I wear them everywhere! So what if they’re not high heels? My kids don’t mind and my back and feet sure feel grateful!
(remember those Phillip Lim Tatami birkenstocks we talked about a while back? I still hope that maybe, one day, I’ll get a pair!)
Ah, I have an ordinary pair a sort metallic green. Right you are. Our feet and back are so precious. I notice the huge difference with ‘normal’ flip-flops. I don’t remember the Tatami ones but shall google them….girl, I go on and on here.
Ohhh, Hermes Birkenstocks? Lucky girl!
Apologises to readers who are bored….I love this you see. ;)
Ah no, not Hermes – Hermes, but orange – like – the – Hermes – orange ;) . My precious Birkenstocks :x – the Philip Lim ones? they’re here!
Oh, that ones! Nice too!
I heard the Birkenstocks were making a huge comeback so you better get yours outside ;)
LOL! I am trying to get off-line: the whole population where these yet!! Noooooooo, those Philip Lim’s? Yesssssssssssssssss!! ;)
On the other hand, the weather predictions are not sandal friendly at all for the upcoming week; back to my cute ankle boots then. :)
oh puuuhleaase! tell me about the moist and wet weather! I have my sandals all lined up and I still can’t get to wear them any time soon!
hahahahahahahah…….we were the hottest spot in Europe for some days, I thought I fainted sometimes…..the farmers and dikes were praying for rain and I did pray with the…..but on the other hand in your country is a lot off trouble with thunderstorms and too much water in some states, your stat alos?…..so let’s be happy then? We seem to get more water now and in the mean time: wear the nice birckies in da house? Yes? And now I go off beautiful because I have such fun here that my shower screams (water again -and the time here- feels shame) come in here!!!
Hello my lovelies!
I am joining this conversation a tad late but here I am non the less!
I adore the idea of adding a touch or splash of colour and as for Birkenstocks I have a stellar silver pair that I adore! : )
Oh and I have to say I LOVE that pink that Mrs. Obama is wearing and I adore the green skirt and white blouse that are worn so well by that woman in the photo! It is such a classic and forever summer look! : )
I too have a fantastic pair of silver Birkenstocks that “are to die for” – IMO! The other day @ the supermarket a little girl (about 8) stopped me & told me they looked ”cool”! Wow I still am hip!
MObama is definitely my “office style” shero! She’s just.. impeccable? At all times?
Yeah, baby! Show them Birkies off! Oh, I love those shoes! There ain’t no fashion that’ll put me off of them!
keiko – that’s so sweet? She just walked up to you and told you that? Whoa! That took some guts! Then again, those silver Birkies? I’m sure they worked their magic!
kpriss – I was at the check out & the child was with her mother behind me – I casually turned around & she just said it to me – spontaneously – “you have cool shoes”. It made my day.
The niceness of actions are the best.
Girls, I think Birckenstocks look great on a lot off people’s feet; but not on mine. Not even in that colour I bought and love. I bet you all look great with them. As I see around me. And my feet loves them so much. :((
Everyone and their dog wears the Birckies here. I bought mine in the supermarket for only €25!! So I showed them to a German neighbour who is an avid Birckenstock fan, her 13 year old son wears them too, and she told me it were not fakes but definitely the real ones. She has clue how I can walk on high heels though. :)
I saw a little girl with silver ones: too cute. Her mother and sister wore other colours. I am just ‘jealous’ they don’t look good on my feet……:”>
keiko, I think that cute little girl you met would have loved them too to wear them herself……:)
