Nine’s Nicole, Marion, Penelope And Kate Do Vogue November 2009

Forget Fillipa Hamilton Vs Ralph Lauren. Vs The Blogosphere! Here’s Vogue’s November 2009 cover with four ladies photographed by Annie Leibovitz: Nicole Kidman, Marion Cotillard, Penelope Cruz and Kate Hudson.

How and why is that worthy of a Vogue cover is beyond any lowered-by-photoshop expectations I might have had concerning a fashion magazine cover. Is this the real November 2009 Vogue cover? (fingers crossed for “No” though by the looks of the behind the scenes, after-the-jump video, it’s all for real!) (photo via)

Look at all the effort it took to create this cover! A wonderful place, beautiful women and still it doesn’t look natural! Though one of them does look like wax. Anyway why wasn’t there more room for ladies like Judy Dench and Sophia Loren or Fergie? It is Fergie right? :(

I like Marion and Penelope but I really do not think that I would get this issue. They should have also had Helen Mirren. But this feels done before and I am kind of tired of it. You are right Adrianna it dose not look natural or “fun” everyone is “acting”. :(
As an aside does anyone know what is going on with Annie Leibovitz? I hope that things worked out for her.

appalling cover – what a waste of all that creativity. A fine example of how Vogue is getting further out of touch with what is expected from VOGUE!

Ellington, Hellen Mirren has not a part in the musical-movie Nine. I mentioned Judi, Sophia and Fergie because they are. I guess they must be too old or not glamorous enough for Vogue US according to the 60 year old editor. She’s a shame for her own gender……:P

Annie, as many artists, is not great at the financial management department. That’s the case. Sad but true.

On a happier note: what about Daniel Day-Lewis he’s in the movie? :D

Second time: the more I look at this cover: every time I like it less……such a waste of money. So unreal……bah!

Interesting that by far the best performance in it – Fergie’s – didn’t warrant putting her on the cover too….

Fergie got herself a lot of new fans thanks to this film and her collaboration with Slash as a rock-singer. The woman is so versatile she’s a revelation to me.
