The Mode Of Almodóvar In Harper’s Bazaar March 2010

Pedro Almodóvar officially reached an iconic standard so high (by Hollywood value charts) that he’s honored with a Harper’s Bazaar pictorial! And not just any! The Mode of Almodovar, featured in the magazine’s March 2010 issue (yes, the Kate the Great one) featurs some equally iconic designers recreating Almodovar’s movie posters.

I never imagined the Kaiser in one of Almodovar flics so I’ll keep an open spirit while trying to get these re-edits under my skin! (the story continues right after the jump with more images! Click here for the gallery!)

The minor changes you’re picking on are not going to change one pleat of the general idea: Almodovar the Great, Kate the Great (Cindy the Great). This is one great issue for Harper’s Bazaar. Some they nail, some they don’t. Almodovar is a go, for sure! Not to mention it’s always a pleasure (at least in my calendar) when fashion designers step out into the light and do some honest modelling! Who’s your favorite? (photos via)

I would have to say that I like Jean Paul Gaultier’s Mother Superior photo as it reminds me of one of my favourite comedies “Bedazzled” with the late Dudley Moore and the late Peter Cook, there was scene in that film that they were nuns and Gaultier looks like he just walked out of that scene. : )
As for the Kaiser’s, I was not impressed with his photo because something tells me that this is the photo from his passport and not from a special shoot, that is just how wacky the Kaiser rolls.

Coincidentally I’ve re-watched two Almodóvar’s film last weekend on tv. It was Almodóvar weekend. Not really a punishment. A short piece of Volver I just re-watched some weeks ago and Todo Sobre Mi Madre and (I believe) my fave of all his fims Hable Con Ella.
Of course it has always been obvious Almodóvar loved fashion and women to be beautiful…..’
My fave photo? Pedro himself of course (and Javier Bardem) is my favourite! :D
