With the November 2011 issue of Vogue UK came the first images of the Versace for H & M Collection ad campaign. We’ve seen some bits and pieces from the iconic collaboration and it was about time the ad campaign hit the audience since the actual collection breaks into selected stores starting November 17.

An electric Sasha Pivovarova and a leather duo (Daphne Groeneveld and Lindsey Wixson) do their best Versace blonde impersonation all dolled up in H & M. Versace for H & M. I’m having troubles relating to Sasha’s loud look but I’m sure the collection itself is gorgeous and Versace through and through!

I can’t help but wonder now, if the world’s fashpeople absolutely need someone to aim all their critics at, just because. And if that someone is editor in chief of any Vogue magazine, all the best!

Since Carine Roitfeld has left the French Vogue, Anna Wintour was the only one leading the Vogue pack, alone in this invisible, cold fashion war. Whatever, whoever she puts on her Vogue’s cover, there will always be fashpeople who’ll feel betrayed, disappointed. Fashpeople, behold! There comes Franca Sozzani! The editor in chief of Vogue Italy comes to Anna’s rescue (not that she needed any backing, but hey, fashpower girls have to stay united!) and keeps the press busy, busy busy with her beliefs and declarations. I love her! If anything, she’s almost as longstanding managing Vogue as Anna, also above the trends by following a unique, personal and highly recognizable style. And, most importantly, she likes raising pulses with her magazine!

If you ask me, I think she’s a genius. At least as far as leading a Vogue magazine can imply. Fully aware that she is and will always be quoted, that this particular phrase will be picked up and turned round, Franca Sozzani went ahead with launching another war and said: (just to be clear, here’s what you was “officially” described as a fashionista by Wikipedia and the Urban dictionary)

Sometimes I say I think elegance is very boring, or I hate fashionistas. […] It’s not that I wake up and say, “I hate fashionistas.” But I do hate fashionistas.

If you thought that Vogue Paris sans Carine Roitfeld would be the end of Lara Stone’s merciless ruling over all fashion world and all fashion magazines, you were so, so wrong! Not only Lara Stone’s kingdom never lost an inch of magazine page or bit of internet publication, but she’s proving again, with a lot of coverage, that she owns the Fall 2011 season!

Lara Stone is the cover girl (and by that I don’t mean that she only holds the cover, but also a cover story inside, plus some of the most beautiful pictures I’ve ever seen of Lara Stone) of The New York Times T Style Magazine Fall 2011. She’s the little Dutch girl, as they say, and she’s talking about being Dutch too! Oh, and please, Adriana, can you comment both on the pictures and the article which talks about what not to miss in Amsterdam? I trust you more than I trust the New York Times people (wink)!

I’m so happy for Julie Bowen and her Emmy Award! She’s really a great actress and that statue is well deserved! She and Ty Burrell, her on – screen husband, both won an Emmy Award for their stunning performances in the as well stunningly good TV Series Modern Family. (please, if you’re not yet watching, try an episode, it will hook you up for good!)

Julie was wearing, as previously announced, an Oscar de la Renta sequined dress and she was looking nothing short of fabulous! Her dramatic cleavage was all she needed to break her otherwise boy-ish silhouette and add a serious sexy factor to the gray-ish look! Congrats Julie Bowen and Ty Burrell! You do make a wonderful Claire and Phil Dunphy couple!

This is pretty special. And pretty boring at the same time. Which is amazing, given that it involves two of the most controversial fashion people of the moment: Carine Roitfeld, ex – Vogue Paris, currently freelancing anything and everything fashion and Terry Richardson. Who … well, you know who!

So Carine Roitfeld covers the Fall 2011 issue of i – D Magazine. The cover tagline says Dream Big. And I do. I really do, because this cover is really dull and not helping my fashion inspiration today. Does it help yours? (photo via)

Little has been said in John Galliano’s favor since his falling from grace in that most unhappy, unpleasant and unforgettable drunk terrace talk. Fashion people and mortals alike blended in a general meh, frowning and looking away in disgust, leaving John Galliano all alone on the shrine of the fashion talent. For he is a truly talented designer, no doubt about that.

So what do we do? Look for profit and tranquility or give another shot to fashion? To talent? Rumors putting Marc Jacobs in charge of Christian Dior started to circulate. Fashion people keep their cool and don’t comment much. Too bad. Here’s some with an extra pair: Vogue Italy’s Franca Sozzani saying Galliano’s place is chez Dior. What do you think?

“Hire back John Galliano. Look, I understand their point of view. I understand they couldn’t just say, ‘Bad boy! We forgive you! Come back!’ But it’s really a pity. And I will never believe he believed what he said. I think he was drunk and alone in a bar. When people go crazy, they go crazy. It’s a human case, it’s not political or religious.”

My daaahlings, mark your calendars! Today, the first of September, 2011, is a grand day for photography and fashion. For Fashion Photography. Fashion magazines may be freed from the cigarette dictatorship!

The one and only Cigs Pictorial Queen, Carine Roitfeld has issued a statement saying that she will no longer use cigarettes again for any shoots. And that she’s sorry for having subjected us to all that photo – smoking! Isn’t that amazing? In her own words:

Oh wow! Angelina Jolie on a magazine cover! It’s been a while since we’ve seen her gracing the pages of a fashion (more or less) glossy! Here she is, staring back at us from the newsstand, with her clear blue eyes and larger than life pout on the October 2011 issue cover of Vanity Fair magazine!

Photographed by Mert and Marcus, Angelina is featured in an inside interview which touches mainly her career more than anything (although I loooove the picture VF is premiering, with Zahara and Shiloh in the background! Dreamy beautiful composition!). And just by reading the few lines they’ve published online, my curiosity to actually watch her movie was increased by 70%! Mostly because she said she wrote it and that I really didn’t know! Did you?
