And just because I was talking about the bling thing – one of the most important trends this season, actually (duh! One of these days they’re going to replace “let it snow” with “let it bling”!), there goes a little something from the Free People!
The Sequin Boxer Short. If you’ve been through at least three stores lately, then you know that sequined shorts are in! Big time! Like there’s no party without a sequined short! And you know what? I’m ok with that because I lik’em too! It’s like a pimped up version of those short jeans we’re seeing everywhere during the hot summer time! Now – from loving them to wearing them… I don’t know! Would you wear those wee sequined boxers?
Loving Tiffany & Co’s Holidays campaigns has become a bit of a cliché, but I don’t mind. Clichés are good, especially during the Holidays season!
The 2011 Holidays Ad Campaign from the iconic jewelry brand brings Laetitia Casta into the spotlight. Flawless, unbelievably charming Laetitia in one of those fairy tale like love stories with a happy bling ending. I must say, though I appreciate Laetitia and usually love Tiffany’s campaigns, between this one and Tiffany’s weddings one, I’m definitely sold for the latter. Shown earlier this year, Tiffanny & Co’s video was really magical! You could feel the sparkle. This one – not. No sparkle. The girl is beautiful, the jewelry is exquisite. The campaign is impeccable overall. Only the “True Love Grows” dream was more believable to me. Am I the only one?
Notoriously recognized as one of the most courageous and stylish trendsetters, Sarah Jessica Parker was recently photographed at a horse competition event wearing a less common hair accessory.
And we know she likes her hair accessories big and interesting, don’t we? However, this last one doesn’t look like a classical Philip Treacy to me! Sarah Jessica Parker was wearing a hair piece strikingly similar to a necklace! Or a tiara on the side. It’s hard to classify it as I’m not really familiar with this kind of hair accessory. Hit the jump for more!
Speaking of men – you’re aware of the cosmetics or beauty products created especially for men – the last one joining the beauty case is the nail polish for men!
EvolutionMan Nail Varnish and Nail Paint were “Formulated with men in mind” and, you guessed it right, addresses to the stylish, uber fashionable or simply rebel men population out there who loves a good manicure (and / or pedicure) every now and then (or, why not, on a regular daily basis).
While naturally asking myself if this nail polish created especially for men is any different from the usual nail polish for women, I couldn’t find a satisfying answer that would point out the notable differences. Sure, the names sound a bit different than the girly, funny names we’re used to reading on the bottom of our nail lacquer bottles, but that’s it? (EvolutionMan is declined in shades like Pure Matte, Pure Bling, Pavement, Stand Out gunmetal or purple Alter Ego) Well, at least we know Gwen Stefani would be a sure client! Don’t we?
After causing a jewelry stir with those indie friendly friendship bracelets, the jewelry must remains the same: stack’em up, ladies!
Chunky, blingy, golden, silver, you name it! All you have to do is wear one bracelet next to another from your wrist to your elbow, just like in the picture below! Make sure you wear the appropriate sleeve length so your stacked bling beauties can steal the show! (are you feeling this jewelry stack? The picture was taken by Darren S Feist and published in Marie Claire, the UK edition with Sarah Jessica Parker on the cover. Brenda Costa is the fierce model styled by Lucia Debieux, with makeup by Lee Pycroft and hair by Tim Crespin)
Or should I say… the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo’s Vogue November 2011? Because that’s what it’s all about. About Rooney Mara being the girl with the most wanted part of them all. Playing the character of Lisbeth Salander from the first adult franchise Millenium Series, The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo. (by franchise, don’t get all Star Wars on me, saying that SW was really adult – think un-like Twilight and Harry Potter. These are the references to keep in mind)
I wish I could tell you more about this movie, unfortunately, you know I’m not a spoiler girl, and if I’d let you in more about Stieg Larsson’s Millenium Series, you’ll know what to expect. So, if you’re not already familiar with the books and / or the Swedish movie, nothing will be different after reading this! (however, if you’re curious to know more, stick with me until the end) Let’s concentrate on Rooney Mara as photographed by Mert and Marcus for Vogue’s cover!
Stumbling across the Pink Fried Chicken necklace source, I’d though it would be a great idea to present you with the rest of the Onchmovement goodies! Literally.
Maybe some of you appreciate and even want to wear (or imitate through DIY) the original creations? Why not, after all? More vehemently we try and deny Lady Gaga’s influence on fashion and things style, her attitude may be catching up with everyone.
Lady Gaga wearing the infamous meat dress is still a burning image in my head and regardless of how much I want to reassure myself and believe it won’t happen again, Nicki Minaj sporting a golden chain necklace with a Pink Fried Chicken wing hanging on it is not a step in the right direction. Is it? Onchmovement seem to be pretty serious about this kind of jewelry design. They’ve got a Pink Fried Chicken Drumstick Necklace and some Bacon Jewelry pieces too – check them out after the jump!
Mom, look, it’s Victoria’s Secret Angels! On the cover of Elle October 2011! How awesome is that? We were just talking about Victoria’s Secret 2011 Fashion Show and in a matter of minutes I stumble across the latest issue of Elle with the VS Angels on the cover!
Miranda Kerr (who is, rumoredly, this year’s wearer of the Fantasy Bra), Chanel Iman, Doutzen Kroes and Adriana Lima each with her own Elle cover and an associate pictorial lensed by Alexei Hay and styled by Joe Zee. Undoubtedly Elle’s biggest selling issue this year! Wouldn’t you agree? (I loved Chanel and Doutzen – they don’t get that much magazine space and having an Elle cover, even if a multiple cover issue, is a big deal – for us and for them too). Don’t miss the video and the photos after the jump! Click here for the gallery! Oh, and – what’s with the big jewelry? All piled up like that? It’s the new bling must?
