When they said that Rosie Huntington – Whiteley withdrew from the Olympics closing ceremonies because she wants people to see her more as an actress rather than a model, I wasn’t anticipating this Elle UK September 2012 cover!

I don’t think anyone was! Especially with the title “Rosie The Supermodel Confesses”. Photographed by David Vasilievic, Rosie looks 100 % a model. A pouting, wind blown, model! So where’s the catch? She could’ve done the Olympics ceremony as well if she did this Elle!

This and Vogue UK’s September cover makes me think that even fashion people got too preoccupied by the Olympics to consider properly doing their job. They exhausted their creative energy. Bottom line.

We talked about this before – about what to wear while biking around! But fashion people know best and we got it all wrong so far. Let’s join hands humbled by our fashion ignorance and praise this unique vision of biking perfection! I think I got it (finally – I may be the last to do that, given my laid back attitude towards fashion). Karlie Kloss, everybody’s favorite model, is the new Barbie (at least as far as the catwalk / official fashion scene goes).

However, this ultimate modeling epiphany hit me when I saw Elie Saab’s fall 2012 ad campaign with the above mentioned Karlie Kloss. Elie Saab is one of the favorite designers for the Red Carpet Events. The tough standards for our highly esteemed celebs involve, as I was reading just minutes ago, drastic diets to fit into a character’s skin / costume (I’m talking about the overhyped Catwoman diet adopted by Anne Hathaway). Because Karl Lagerfeld can simply do it all, he launched a capsule collection coordinated with the London Olympics. Dedicated and inspired by the Olympic Games. Because in der Kaiser’s head (who is a sports fanatic. Not!), leather body glove jackets, tighter than your skin skinny jeans (both splattered with gold paint) and glittery sequined collars are so sporty! Time to throw your tracksuit out the window and replace it with paint splattered skinny jeans! Now!{VogueUK}

Because, let me tell you, if you haven’t, you’re in for a real quake! Daria Werbowy’s new haircut, my dahlings, is a messy disaster. She allegedly decided to cut her beautiful locks off because they were in seriously bad shape. But is that really enough to justify the final outcome?

It definitely looks like one of those impossible hipsters haircuts that anyone can perform in a dark room with a blunt scissors. I mean anyone! My daughter can do that to her hair (God Forbid!) from the height of her almost 5yo!

But wait, maybe you haven’t seen the entire atrocity of Daria’s new haircut as reportedly performed by one for the most talented hairstylist of the moment, the Dutch Christiaan Houtenbos: check out that bleached braid! Daria’s got a rattail – ed haircut! Countdown to extensions initiated!

Unless you’ve been living under a fashstone, you haven’t heard that Lana del Rey is the star of H & M fall winter 2012 2013 ad campaign! Because everybody, literally, is talking about the campaign right now!

While I was expecting something darker for this fall (as it’s so leather – y and dark), H & M thinks pink. Lana del Rey’s Inez and Vinoodh pictures are undoubtedly lovely and really feminine, totally coherent with her artistic stage personality. But are we really ready to wear pink angora sweaters and identically pink skinny pants in the fall’s muddy streets? We’ll see, we’ll see…

When it comes to magazine covers, some editors just think they have it all figured out: a dash of photoshop here, a touch of undergarment there, a racy nuance today, an indecent controversy tomorrow. We’re almost tempted to believe that when it comes to covers, we’ve seen all colors already!

But wait!

Anne – Marie Slaughter, through the Atlantic tells us not only that “Women still can’t have it all” but also why!

And all that inside a magazine covered by what appears to be a woman with dubious fashion sense and serious motherhood issues who placed her (or someone else’s) baby in a briefcase!

I asked earlier – what mad architecture was that – now I’m asking it again: What mad cover is that?
