Exquisite socialite Lauren Santo Domingo who opens her house for parties and equally fine socialites like herself (although it’s hard to find someone as posh as the real LSD) has a $500,000 artsy Hippo bar. For social purposes, biensur. Sculpted by Francois – Xavier Lalanne, only 8 bronze hippopotamus bars, scattered around the world. That adds quite a challenge for your Christmas shopping list, huh? {images by Claiborne Swanson Frank via}

Anne Hathaway’s Sassy Glamour January 2013
Les Miserables is shaping up to be a grand success – at least that’s how the critics are projecting it after the first screenings. Anne Hathaway is adding to her Miserables covers, after the Vogue December 2012, now Glamour January 2013. Except this time, Anne really looks lovelier than ever, youthful and sassy. Too bad they had to talk about her weight loss so much – since when we make an event out of this? {examiner}

Gucci’s Frida Giannini Is Pregnant!

The Holiday Season is barely starting and happy news came pouring in like starry snowflakes!
After congratulating Lara Stone (and her husband) for their pregnancy announcement, it’s time to pass the congratulatory letter to Gucci’s creative – Frida Giannini who is pregnant with her (and partner Patrizio di Marco’s) first child.
Attending the catwalk business as usual, the baby is scheduled for post – Fashion Week delivery! If it’s a girl, she’ll home high heels first! {vogueitalia}
UPDATE: as it was expected and announced, Frida’s baby was delivered right after she presented her Fall Winter 2013 2014 Fashion Show. Well.. it’s not like she went straight from giving the final designer bow into the maternity ward, but just a couple of days later!

The baby was delivered safe and sound, with excellent reports and… yes! It’s a girl! Her name is Greta! Isn’t it a wonderful name? I thought she will name her Flora, as a reminder of how she revolutionized the Gucci fashion house taking over from Tom Ford’s legacy and concentrating on Gucci’s iconic past by reinventing the iconic Flora print and applying it from accessories to clothing, everywhere!
Just imagine what wee Greta will wear as her mother started a children’s line within Gucci since 2011!

Ad Fail: Saskia De Brauw’s Saint Laurent Men’s Campaign
I distinctly remember a line Andrej Pejic threw once, back when he was in his glory peak days, saying that maybe fashion houses are in a sensitive financial position and, by hiring him, they’d get both the girl and a boy for the price of one. With that in mind, also adding the fact that creative heads of their own fashion maisons seem to find it suitable to do their own advertising (photography and styling), I’m compelled to label Saskia de Brauw’s Saint Laurent Men’s Ad Campaign as normal!
However, if I would step aside from the fashion spotlight, putting things in a normal perspective, I’d say this is sick, even for fashion standards! (the story continues after the jump, click here for the gallery!)

Karlie Kloss Up In A Tree For T Travel Winter 2012
I like Karlie Kloss. She’s so fashionably daring! Taking risks when she’s doing a pictorial like she’s inspiring the editors and the photographers, pushing them to try new things in a very active registry. T Travel Winter 2012 magazine did a story of Delicate Balance with Karlie, photographed by Adrian Gaut. They obviously shot on location and there must have been some scary stuff crawling on the surface to put Karlie in a tree..

Most Fashionable Sandals: Birkenstocks!
While doing my daily rounds on the fashion interwebs, I came across a very interesting piece of news: Garance Dore loves Birkenstocks!
More: she even penned a Birkenstock Love Letter to show her appreciation for the German – made comfy footwear! And that, my dahlings, coupled with the numerous Birkenstock sightings I’ve been reporting about, will definitely mark the return of the Birkenstock Sandals! I’m expecting a Birkenstock feature in Vogue soon!

Keira Knightley’s Anna Karenina Allure December 2012 Cover
You might ask yourselves why do I attach a movie title in a magazine cover – topic. Easy: that’s how it works in reality, so the sooner I’d get used to magazine covers acting out as movie posters, the better! Keira Knightley covers Allure’s December 2012 issue as photographed by Mario Testino with bigger hair than wardrobe. It’s an interesting way to illustrate the cover title ‘Totally Gorgeous Skin’. {allure}

Amanda Seyfried Goes Miserables In Vanity Fair, Vs Magazine
I told you I was going back to Amanda Seyfried and her two magazines stories! It’s all about Les Miserables, don’t you forget that – Anne Hathaway, Amanda… (and who knows what’s next). Taking the cover of Vanity Fair’s UK December 2012, as a classic beauty, flawless, but classic nevertheless. Thus a bit boring; and losing it for Guy Aroch in Vs magazine.
Sure, the Vanity Fair images are fashionable but I realized I like it better when fashion magazines take risks and turn a story on its tail, making it new, breathing new life and new fashion into it, just like the talented Vs people did in Amanda’s case. So how about you? Do you like to play the dangerous fashion game?
