It’s hard to believe that in times like these, when all is but glitter dust in the economic crisis wind, a movie like The Great Gatsby can be successful. And still – I believe it will make a great cinematic splash. Baz Luhrmann’s movies always do.

And the cast he worked with for this new adaptation of the Great Gatsby – Leonardo di Caprio (with whom the director has worked before in Romeo and Juliet) or Carey Mulligan (a longtime Prada fan whose wedding dress was also Prada) have found a perfect fashion match in Miuccia Prada. She designed (more like tweaked her own pre existing designs) Carey Mulligan’s 40 dresses from the movie. Also, Tiffany & Co provided the right amount of jewelry Carey’s character – Daisy Buchanan needed to to be: ‘…the best thing a girl can be in this world, a beautiful little fool.’

I’m really under the spell! Givenchy Spring Summer 2013 Ad Campaign sounds like a glorious one! Not only does Mariacarla Boscono bring her baby girl – Marialucas, for the occasion, but Riccardo Tisci decided to trust his friends with this marketing session.

Not a day without Karlie, huh? Yesterday I was talking about Karlie being the new face of Mercedes Benz Fashion Week (and about that cryptic campaign) and here’s another Karlie moment to enjoy!

The skateboards brand Doodah teamed up with Swiss photographers Claudia Knoepfel & Stefan Indlekofer for a special boards collection named ‘Supermodel’. Because – you guessed it right – actual models posed for the collection (Arizona Muse, Freja Beha, Lara Stone, Iselin Steiro, Magdalena Frackoviak, Edita Vilkeviciute, Isabeli Fontana, Anja Rubik and now, Karlie Kloss). If you’re a fan – or you know someone who is – you’d better hurry because only 99 items were made and they’re currently available through Doodah boutiques, as reported by Vogue France.

Wait, what? 46 years in prison for counterfeiting plastic clogs? I can understand the moral need to limit and punish the counterfeit industry, but really?! 18 Chinese counterfeiters were prosecuted and sentenced to pay apx $451,000 in addition to serving 46 years in prison for replicating & commercializing $129,000 worth of fake Crocs (plus $9.6 million in confiscated merchandise). New York Times Style Magazine has thought about a nice birthday cover for Jude Law, this Holiday issue. Jude is turning 40! And if we’re to believe him, he’s happy he’s no longer the ‘pretty thing’.

But what he is, though, is an actor in the new ‘Anna Karenina’ which seems to be in the box office ring, dodging ‘Les Miserables’ success bullets this season. Classic tales, we’ll see who’ll be the winner (I have my bets set on Les Mis, you?). For the moment let’s concentrate on Jude Law and his NY Times pictorial. Which was artfully executed by Sam Taylor Johnson (MMM H & M’s campaign, if the name doesn’t ring any particular bell) and edited by Bruce Pask. We just talked about Christy Turlington as you know she’s an all time favorite model of mine. And I remember I saw some really beautiful pictures of Liya Kebede somewhere. Today I searched for them because, much like Christy, Liya is also one of the models I love and admire the most.

This pictorial was masterfully executed by Ben Hassett and included in Numero France’s November 2012 issue. You may already label it ‘so yesterday’. But when it comes to Liya, in my mind, nothing’s yesterday.

So this is it! Gisele Bundchen finally gave birth to her second child with husband Tom Brady! And it’s a girl! Vivian was born Wednesday night – no word about how it all went down (first time, Gisele chose to waterbirth) and no further details are available.
